Default New Tulsa Flea Market - Lots of Games (Many Pix)

Anyone who likes videogames, flea markets, and lives anywhere near Tulsa, Oklahoma should check out the flea market located just off 51st street on the west side of town. Here are pictures of just a few things The Stranger and I ran across this weekend while out shopping …

Asterix, Risk, and Super High Impact, all boxed and in good condition. $5 each.

More boxed games lined the shelves. Here were just a few of the NES games sitting on one of the shelves.

    New/Sealed Atari 2600 games, $10 each.

More $10 Atari and Intellivision games.

    Shoplifters will be STOMPED.

Atari Age magazines and Star Wars toys behind glass – never a good sign for those on a budget.

Loose 2600 games with quite a few not-so-commons.

The football player towers over the Cylon Raider.

Boxed PSX, boxed Power Pad, boxed NES (behind the boxed 2600).

    Loose games under glass.

    Magazines.

    Robots.

    \

    More games, inside.

    PC Games.

    N64 games.

    Assorted goodies.

I couldn't believe how many things this one single flea market had!! Retrogaming is alive and well in the heartland.

We've been meaning to make a trip up to Tulsa for a while now. Maybe on my next long weekend we'll check it out

That looks pretty awesome. Wishing I had an extra store around here that looked like that.

One thing I've noticed about flea markets....

Everyone that sells PC games always has a copy of Creatures. God, that game must've sucked.

Everytime I go into a place that sells used PC games, I see at least 5 copies, without fail...

I'd kill for one of those sealed Night Stalker's.

Thats interesting.. your american flea markets seem very organised.. around here its just everything thrown in a pile on a table.. no glass no nothing

But then again none of them know ANYTHING about games..

Never any glass though, that must be annoying

I'm rather curious about that Godzilla myself.

    $75? I can't read the tag.

A lot of games there because they never sell, they are way overpriced. But that is just down the street from us Flack, you should have come by lol.
Last time we were there the guy with all the games was trying to sell a poor soul "the rarest Mario game" cart only Mario is Missing for $30.
The saddest part of that flea market is in the very back someone has a stand of atari and nes that are all dirt caked and sunbleached, you expect them all to be E.T. or something. Poor games

Yes, Godzilla (and the two Shogun Warriors next to him which I didn't get a pic of) were all $75 each. I had two Shogun Warriors when I was a kid and I thought $75 sounded crazy! Then I came home and checked eBay and the first one I saw was selling for $120 so I guess they really are worth that much, go figure!

Ice: Coming from the east, go all the way through Tulsa just like you're doing to OVGE. The OVGE exit was Lewis; this is about 2-3 miles west of that. There's a big billboard on the left hand side that says "Flea Market, next exit". The exit is 51st street. From there just follow the signs, you can't miss it. It's only open on Saturdays from 8-5.

An icbrkr/PDF raiding party must be formed and launched toward this venue immediately.

Well, $75 is a tad pricy for me.

Any old (pre-1994) EGM mags at this place?

No no no. Creatures is an amazing game. The problem is its kindof more of an experiment than a game. The guy who made it is basically some self-taught scientist with all these ideas about artificial life. He put those into the game. It basically is an A-Life game. You breed these Creatures, have to look after them and teach them stuff, then they breed and soforth with their genes passing through to the next generation (though they get very incestual, urgh). It also had a great online community - people trading creatures and there were thousands of new items and things to download. I guess the game was probably far too wacky for most people.

I live about 35 miles north of Tulsa. If my car wasn't so screwed up I would drive down there.

    Default meh

The flea market in South Carolina (where I live) pretty muchs sucks.
There is one store, and it's a tad bit pricey, but everything's behind glass and he has a lot of games. The guy who runs it is a tad odd, but he's still cool.
There's one other store teen feet away from this store that focuses exclusively on video games and guitars, but they both sell for the same prices.
Creatures was a fun game too.
