Superfighter Pro SNES/Megadrive Backup device

Just purchased a superfigher pro back up device which Create back-ups of all of your games to floppy disk drive built-in to the device.

I just bought it for £100.00 pounds boxed in manuals, did I get a deal or did I pay over the odds?

You did pay more, but if it's worth it to you, no biggie since they are somewhat rare. $100 is probably more like it (whazzat, like 65 pounds or something?).

However, you did get it complete, so...score.

I saw a boxed/complete Super Magic Drive sell on eBay recently for about £40. That only rips MD games though, so I'd expect a SNES/MD multi-compatible unit to get a bit more.
rbudrick's estimate looks about right for a boxed one, though you can get 'em loose for under £50.

I have used the Double Pro Fighter before. Unfortunately, the reliability of these units weren't that great. The good thing about the Double Pro Fighter it is 2 copiers in one and once you find a decent power supply (it can be picky), it backs up and plays most games. Sometimes I had to reload some of the games (esp Genesis side) to get the games to work, else a Red Screen of Death or nothing. If you want a reliable back up unit for the SNES, then I recommend the Game Doctor/Professor from Bung. Seems great that you have found one in as excellent condition as it is.

Over the odds..

I paid 20p for my MGH (Multi Game Hunter) which works on Megadrive and SNES (didnt come with an adaptor for the Megadrive though)

Ive got a boxed Super Pro Fighter Q as well, which works just on the SNES, which I got for next to nothing..

I think the ones that are made for just one system, instead of two, work the best.

£100 is well over priced but with the box and manuals i'd be tempted to buy it myself. You should have a look at the super wild cards, they dont work with the mega drive but i think there the best backup drives for the super nintendo then the game doctor sf7.

How much memory has your double pro fighter got, 16, 24, 32?

For SNES, the Game Doctor SF 7 is universally recognized as the best backup device. And the best thing about it? Tototek still sells them with maxed out memory at a very good price!

Using their SNES flash cart in combination with this unit, and you've got the best combo available right now.
