    Default Blast from the past!

Had a blast from the past today when I stopped at an arcade called "Cactus Jacks", in Oklahoma City.(Thank you Flack)
I walked in with a handful of quarters, having forgotten what a "token" is. At first, I thought the coin slot was jammed, then I saw the token dispenser near the entrance.
I have to admit it was easy to loose track of time while getting pummeled at Robotron, Defender, and Galaga! (used to be good at these, years ago!)
My favorite would have to be the "Harley Davidson" pinball machine. Vibrating feedback , cool sounds, and great gameplay.

    Default .......

It is becoming harder and harder to find arcades that have classic games in them.

Aw man, should have let me know you were stopping by there -- I live less than 10 minutes from there! Cactus Jack's is okay ... they used to have a lot more retro games than they do now, but there is still some fun to be had there. My son enjoys going there with me. I love how dark the place is -- I think that's on purpose to keep you from seeing all the asbestos up in the rafters.

Sorry about that Flack. Didn't know you were so close!

The last time I remember seeing classic games in a arcade was years ago, somewhere in downtown Dallas, I think it's called the "Westend Marketplace".
Cactus Jacks may not have very many classic games, but it is a fun place to visit.

If anyone lives in SE CT, I run an arcade at Ocean Beach Park in New London, got a decent selection of classic stuff. Pole Position, Pac, Ms. Pac, Pac-Mania (yes, dedicated!), Super-Pac, Arkanoid, Joust, Defender Stargate, Centipede, Milipede, Burgertime, Galaxian AND Galaga (both), DK Jr., Jungle King. Stuff like that. Actually, now that I think of it, it's all "classic" stuff. Got a Simpsons still, pinballs (how often do you see an arcade that still has pins?!) Also have some newer stuff like MK2, MK4, KI2, Virtua Cop 1, Time Crisis (the first one, 50" monitor). Anyways, enough rambling on, if anyone's close by, come check it out, open all summer and every weekend all year-round. Hope to see you all there!!!! Oh, BTW, did I mention the full-size sit-down Afterburner AND Out Run???
