Default Panasonic FZ-1 3DO system is incredibly picky about media

I have had two FZ-1 models, and both of them are extremely picky about CD-R media. The first one that I had, worked really well with a certain version of Memorex CD-R's. Unfortunately, Memorex has made some changes to their CD-R's, and their current CD-R's don't work with the FZ-1.

Does anybody know of any blank CD-R media that works very well with Panasonic FZ-1 units? It needs to be media that can still be purchased at stores today. So far, I've only been able to find a certain Memorex version, and a certain Fujifilm version that works with FZ-1's, but if you buy new Memorex or Fujifilm CD-R's they don't work, cause they slightly changed the nature of the media, and the FZ-1 doesn't like the new ones.

This seems to only be an issue with the FZ-1, and not the FZ-10 or Goldstar models.

You're burning as slow as you can go, right? I made a whole stack of coasters for my FZ-10 before realizing that 2x was the max speed for creating reliable backups.

FZ-1 is even pickier, I hear.

I think it has 100 percent to do with media.

Did you try burning at lower speeds, as he said?

I wouldn't be surprised if the media type has something to do with it, but you might as well follow that other lead first.

I agree with the others. I think that the speed at which you are burning makes a great deal of difference. When I burn backups for the old CD systems, I burn it as slow as I can.

    Do you have a FZ-1?

Cause I'm talking about the FZ-1 model specifically. The other 3DO models don't seem to have this problem.

Great, but you need to answer the question we had before we can be more helpful. I'm not accusing you of being incompetent, but we all like to know what the facts are so we can reach our own conclusions.
