Well the chip I got (DMS4 Pro SE), doesn't require any special way of booting imports or backups. I just stick them all in there and they play without having to do anything. I booted up the PS2 with the chip disabled thinking that might solve it, but still no DVD player. Re-flashed the BIOS/OS and that didn't do anything either. It just looks as if there is no DVD installed on the PS2 anymore.
S1lence, do you know for sure if it has to do with the chips boot-up process? If that's the case, the DVD player should work when I boot with the chip disabled, right? I'm going crazy trying to find a definite answer to this. I've been told that it could be anything from a bad chip to a messed up solder point.
