Default if you have a Genesis system hooked up....which config?

Anybody rolling with a Genesis 2/Sega CD 2/Sega 32X combo? I am, at let me tell you, finding spots for the 3 big power adapters is a bitch, and the size of the whole thing is quite large making it difficult to fit into a entertainment center deal.

However, I do enjoy having it all hooked up, so I can play any Genesis type game at my leisure. I can play a Genesis cart or 32X cart, and I can also play a Sega CD or a 32X CD. So it's very convienent, to not have to worry about pulling out the 32X or the Sega CD or both, to be able to play whichever game.

Normally, I always just used to have a Genesis 2 hooked up by itself, because its small, and works relatively well. You just need to make sure to get the stereo cable for the stereo sound. But now, I'm going to try to roll with the 32X/Genny/CD monstrosity. You never know when the urge to play Fahrenheit is going to strike. (yeah, right!)

JVC X'Eye with 32X, can play any game, has a fater/quieter cd drive, only one power adaptor. Now I just need to get one of those Mega Master things so I can add master system compatability to that.

So, the X'Eye has a power plug and the 32 has the power adapter?

I prefer the leaning tower of Sega, myself (especially since it sits atop its bitch, the PS2 ).

Got a LaserActive with Sega Genesis Pac-S10 module. Looks & sounds great. Just wish I had a better receiver so I could use the optical out on the Laseractive.

I've got a Genesis-2 bare, no Sega CD, no 32X. It's got two Quickshot controllers hooked to it though. *** For Professional Players ***

I have a region modded Megadrive 2 and Mega CD 2, running via RGB Scart.

I'd really like an RG-M1 Wondermega, but I can't justify that much cash on something that does exactly what my current set-up does, even if it is 10x sexier.

I've been contemplating getting a MultiMega though, just to save some space. I've been told a CD+ import cart works with a MultiMega, but I'd like confirmation before spending on a MM.

JVC X'Eye all the way, the 32X works fine with it. The 32X blocks the CD door but if you're playing a SCD game just remove it and if you're playing a 32X CD game put the disc in, close the lid, then attach the 32X. The JVC X'Eye uses a single power adapter but you will need to use the 32X power adapter when using the 32X unit. The JVC X'Eye CD drive is far more efficient than the SCD1 or SCD2. Additionally with a US/JPN hardmod you can play Japanese Mega Drive cartridges on a JVC X'Eye via a toggle switch. It will still only play US Sega CD's but you can usually rip, inject a US BIOS, and reburn most Japanese SCD's to get them to run.

If I remember correctly, out of the box a Power Base Converter will not work with a JVC X'Eye for a couple reasons. However when researching the internals of the JVC X'Eye when I was figuring out how to switch the cartridge slot into JPN mode I noticed a few things I didn't know before. Some modifications are more than likely going to be required but I believe I can modify a Power Base Converter to work with the JVC X'Eye - since the cartridge side of the JVC X'Eye is based off the Mega Drive 2 / Genesis 2 architecture. ...now I need to get my hands on one, when I didn't want one I saw them every week. :/

I'm running a region modded JVC X'Eye in A/V composite. I also have a blue power LED in there. It is truly fantastic and highly recommended. Have a 32X, but don't keep it hooked up because I hardly use it. Additionally, I have a region modded Genesis 2 (also with blue LED) and a Genesis 1 with Power Base Converter for the Master System fix. The latter two systems are not hooked up for anytime play, but it is simple enough to set them up if needed.

I am currently running a Altered Beast Genesis with a Sega CD 2 and occasionally run the Power Base Converter for SMS play. I'd like to go with the X'eye but 1) that would eliminate my Power Base Converter and 2) I would loose all my saves on my CD2 - currently looking for ram cart to transfer data. I had just repaired the x'eye and look forward to using it as it would save some space.

Just a Mega Drive II with a Mega CD II and a Datel Pro CDX inserted to play my JAP copy of Sonic CD.

I have a 32X but that thing's a waste of space in it's box, let alone plugged into my Mega Drive.

I don't have any of the add-ons, mainly because finding Sega CD games around here that are good is difficult. As for the 32X, well, I personally don't give two ****s for the system and most likely won't own one.

Up until this weekend, It's been the Genny 2 for space convenience. However, since I just picked up a Genny 3 on the cheap, it's replaced the Model 2's duty. man that thing is small!

Hey, the theme song alone makes connecting it worthwhile!

It may work - just give me some time to work out the details.

Model 2 with Sega CD model 2 hooked up to a Commodore monitor. Looks a LOT sharper and more colorful than on my 27" RCA. I have a power strip that's just being used by those three things. I've got a 32X but not enough games to warrant the hook-up.
