    Default Sega Nomad/32x/Master System (56K)

Well i thought it couldn't be done but its true you can play 32x and Master Games on the Nomad. I think its pretty cool and i thought i would share it with everyone. I found it off a website so yea someone else did it.

Since the Nomad is a Genesis, obviously the 32X can be used without issue!
Play all several of the available 32X games!

The Power Base Converter doesn't quite fit into the Nomad's
cartridge slot. No problem, just plug it into the 32X's slot
and play some Sega Master System games all night long!

And by all night long, you really mean "Until your wrists can't support the weight!" . Good find, though. I've always wondered if this could be done.

Is there anything special that has to be done? I tried it and it doesn't work. What is the website?

Edit: I found these shots and captions on a message board and it appears that this is bogus. Don't I feel like a major ass?

I don't think so. once I tried to put sms convertor top of the 32x and it didn't work. I assume if you do the same thing with a nomad it wouldn't work either.

I would imagine that one could use one of these to run SMS games on the Nomad.

The 32x doesn't work because you have to feed the Genesis RGB video into the 32x to make use of it (the 32x overlays it's own video over that of the Genesis). I would imagine it might partially work, but without displaying sprites or any other graphics generated by the 32x. One could theoretically modify the Nomad to make the system's RGB available, feed it into the A/V port on the back, and then feed the 32x's RGB output into the Nomad's screen. This would probably be more suited for a project meant to combine a Nomad and 32x in the same casing, as it would be quite unwieldy with all the wires hanging about.

That kinda crap makes me want to just modify a big box to have all different kinds of Sega system boards inside with a big switch between pins or something crazy. I'm sure InsaneDave has either done something like that or would know how to.

I wish someone would do this, and throw on a cd drive that supports at least Sega CD, hopefully Saturn and Dreamcast too. I would pay anything to have all the major sega consoles in one box, but I doubt it can be done...

I'm honestly not that big a Sega fan, outside of their arcade development stuff over the years. I'm also a lackluster engineer which is why I never went to school or cared to. My JVC X'Eye stuff was really just to get mine working and then be able to play region locked Japanese Mega Drive games in it - since a couple of those fall into the 16 bit Genesis / Mega Drive games I wanted to play. My only remaining 16 bit Sega contribution (well, really more for the X'Eye) will be stuff with the Power Base Converter - I hope. If that ends up working how I think it will then the JVC X'Eye will pretty much have all the bases covered.

I'm no expert, but I seem to recall someone on these boards stating that it's nigh impossible to get the disparate Genny units to merge into Deva....er, Su.....um....*watches train of though totally derail*

    Nice combo:

Nomad + Sega 32X + Power Base Converter + Master System cart + 3D Glasses + Light Phaser gun = Heavy system on his hand

Mmmm hmmmm. And why couldn't you do that with the Nomad? It has a video output just like a Genesis 2. The problem is feeding the video back into the Nomad.

Did everyone else forget that the 32X must be plugged in to work? I don't see any cords coming out of it. Also, the Nomad probably doesn't have enough battery power to use the Power Base Converter.
