I saw Solstice for NES (boxed, don't know about manual), for sale at a second hand store today.
Just wondering if any of you guys think it's worth getting?

I've got it in my personal, lean and mean NES collection of 50 carts. It's hard and a real thinking game, but the perspective and play is very unique for the system.
I watched an emulator movie of someone beating this on one life under half an hour I think, it was just incredible.
Solstice is a lot of fun, but it's a game I could never beat. the perspective is cool, but it makes some jumps hard, and the puzzles are very difficult IMO. they might be easier now that I'm not 11, but I doubt it.
Buy it, it's a good game. It's difficult, but I have been able to beat it.
Map the game out while playing (there's a small map in the game). After that, and you know the route it isn't that hard anymore.
IMO, it would be a good buy, as long as the price isn't too radical. They're not super rare or anything, but if it has the box that's pretty cool. A walkthrough of the game can be found here.
In case anyone is interested, I have a factory sealed copy of Solstice available FT/FS.

Zophar.net still has them I believe, although they're for Nesticle or some other out of date emulator that used to be quite popular. There's some amazing feats, considering save states couldn't be used in the making of a movie playback file.Originally Posted by boatofcar

It looks like Solstice got a spiritual successor in the form of Lumo: http://www.hardcoregamer.com/2016/05...w-lumo/208238/
I've added it to my wishlist over at GOG. I'll hopefully buy it when it goes on sale for Black Friday.
If you like isometric puzzle games its fantastic. Its a game that does not hold your hand and there is a lot of figuring things out for yourself. Not to mention the game is huge with the Catacombes, Castle, Garden area etc. Its very rewarding however when you find out how the different areas are connected and discover different pathways to them. Its a game that i have owned for over 20 some odd years but have never beaten. I am on a mission to beat the game with nothing but my memory. No taking notes, no reading guides, nothing. I am starting to think I will never achieve this goal. Lol!
The game also has an incredible Tim Follin soundtrack.
Same here. The game looks excellent.
While we are at it lets not forget the official sequel to Solstice, Equinox on the Snes!
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?
