Default urgent please 2600 demo carts?

stupid atari age and their verification stuff...

i folowed a few links and wound up at their forums in the 2600 section and i came acriss this thread:

    http://www.atariage.com/forums/index...howtopic=88783

now do all of these fabled demo carts look like this or is there something special about them?

the reason i ask is because i bought a 2600 (a sixer from 1980 of all times) and about 40 games for $10 and 8 of the games were like the ones in the thread at atari age

    like how?

like text lables with the title and part number only?
does that imply a demo cart or is it something else?

There is nothing uncommon about that style for most games.

That's cool, he had a good eye to find that at a flea market.
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

Yeah, those 3 carts don't list any controller and/or variation info, just the title. Actual releases aren't missing info like that. Plus those titles (Baseball, Space Combat, Computer Chess) are a dead give-away that they aren't actual releases.
ok thats good to be honest because these were kinda beat up....

i noticed that the Home Run cart i have has the same CX number (CX-2623) as the guys baseball cart...thought that was interesting.

i dont know about atari stuff i just got this 2600 last sunday with about 40 games for $10...console only no power or controllers but if goat dan would fix his website back like he said he would i could get that stuff.

the 2600 has a tag inside saying Dec 28 1980 (manfacture date?) and its a 6 switch....atari age's hardware thing says 1980 is when the 4 switch system came out so i guess its a little odd...dont know if it was made in california or not because the sticker on the bottom was missing

The Sunnyvale CA systems were only made during about the first year of release in 1977 with maybe a little runover into 1978. They are also identified by a thick plastic bottom with rounded corners instead of angled ones, plus they have a thicker aluminum RF shield around the cart port and covering circuit board inside, later models have a much thinner shielding.

I think he's asking why were (potentially, based on the tag date) Atari still manufacturing 6 switch models as late as three days before the end of 1980 when the 4 switch version had already come out...

just the fact that its late 80's anbd they would still have some parts it just seems odd to me...they must have ordered WAY to many

I bought a six switch in 1982 even. Also, Sears had 6 switch models until the very end IIRC.
