Default Any good mods for NES, genesis, And atari 2600?

I am planning to paint a NES soon, but i thought i should ask if there are any good mods for it first. It is a toaster NES, And i have already put in a yellow LED and disabled the lockout chip. What other mods are there for the NES?

Also, i'd like to know ANY mod for ANY genesis, other than putting in a new LED for the second model.

Also, i'd like to know how to mod an atari 2600 to use AV cords.

If anyone knows the "How-tos" on these systems, please reply, Thanks!

US/JPN region modification, hands down. It requires installing a switch (depends on which model and there are so many board revisions of both the Genesis 1 and 2 that you kinda have to read what you see but the theory for Genesis 1's are the same across all, and the theory for Genesis 2's the same across all of them as well) and widening the cartridge slot so Japanese Mega Drive games will fit.

A few good threads on information concerning that...

Thread on best Sega Genesis / Mega Drive converter where I lay out the mod. Lots of good information here that pretty much goes through the basis for modding a Genesis 2.

Thread on installing a 50Hz / 60Hz switch, although I never do this unless it's specifically requested, there's more good mod info here.

Lastly, I pretty much wrote out the entire Genesis 1 modification over here. Did make a couple stupid comments in that thread that didn't come out right however. :/

    Thanks, InsaneDavid!

Now, for more mod suggestions! How to AV mod a Atari 2600, and some cool mods for the NES, and some more for the genny.

Edit: atari 2600, not atari 2500...

I created my own mod for a 2600. I took the "female" power plug slot out of an old computer PSU and dremeled out a hole in the 2600 and screwed on the female connector to the unit where the old power slot used to be. Then I cracked open that blasted DC converter and took the guts out and soldered it to the ends of the female connector inside the 2600.
BAM! A 2600 that uses a computer power cord which you can find everywhere and my converter is tucked away inside the 2600 never to be lost again. I have pics if you need.

    Thanks, everyone..

I'm still looking for good mods..

While i'm, here, i'll warn you of something:

NEVER Put glue or epoxy under the 72 pin connector to make it more firm. (I used epoxy) It makes it so firm you have to pry the cart out with a screwdriver.

Just as a note, please don't leave the RF shielding off when you reassemble your console. Consoles, like all electronic devices, put off RF (more if they've been tampered with), and you don't know for sure when you're intefering with an Amateur Radio Operator (I know that the frequencies are technically well away, but better safe than sorry), or with the television signals of your neighbors. The shielding also protects the console's function against stray RF from other sources.

There is no reason besides laziness to leave the shield off.
