Default few questions about a dev. gamecube and ps2 beta's

    Hi,

I recently bought a big lot of protos.
It included a lightblue dev GC console, with USA/JAP switch. I have no beta GC games but I tested with USA and jap games but teh system does not play them. Is this normal?

Also included many ps2 proto's (also from the unreleased Tiny Toons I think developed by Treasure) Can I play these on a modded PS2?

    Thanks

Yeah the dev Cubes only play dev burns, no retail games. It's a different type of disc I believe.

A "dev" gamecube as you've described is called an NR Reader. It will not play retail games, as you've already found out. If you search Ebay for "NR discs" you might get lucky and find some, otherwise i may have a contact who has some doubles.

I run a forum that's basicly dedicated to dev hardware such as you have there, the link is in my sig.

As for the ps2 discs, as long as the discs aren't damaged, you should be able to run them on a modded ps2. The only exceptions would be if the developer added some sort of dongle based security mechanism (which is farily rare. Think of it as a USB thumbdrive you would stick into the ps2 to authorize the game to play).
