Default After Burner Climax kicks so much a$$!

Our D&B got rid of Airline Pilots and the 2 Ferrari 355 Challenge machines they had, and put in a twin After Burner Climax machine. Just like when I first saw the original back in 1987 - there was a line waiting to play this game.

All I can say about this game is "WOW!". It blows the original away. The sense of speed is astonishing! It plays virtually like the original, but if you thought the original was hard - Climax will eat you up, and spit you out.

And yes - the cabinet moves.

Sega is really making some good arcade games lately. Too bad the american arcade is dead and doesn't stand a chance of being resurrected. HotD 4 is really good, too.

It probably won't translate into a very fun home game, but if you see this in your local arcade - do not pass this game up! It's one helluva ride!

I might have to do that, seeing is that I still have $20 in credit on a D&B power card from the last time I went... I am in the fortunate situation in which I live in a city with both a D&B and a GameWorks... From what I understand, GameWorks currently has a working G-Loc 360 unit, which I have to see...

Man, our Pac Man Cafe closed down last year. Perhaps the Disney Quest has it, but it's kind of expensive so I doubt I'll get there. I love me some Afterburner, so I'll keep my eyes open.

Those G-LOC R360's are fun!!! The Funscape here had one before it shut down. I wish I found out what happened to the machine...

I played it once and got so dizzy, it took me 5 minutes to regain balance. The only downside was it cost $5 for 60 seconds on the game's clock. And it was alot harder to control than the G-LOC's in the regular cabinets.

Awesome! I can't wait to get to D&B and hope that they have it. Afterburner, along with OutRun were two of my favorite arcade games as a kid, and they still are.

It's also bitchin' that this new one moves like the old ones, can't wait to try it out.

Any Sega motion-cab game is great, IMO. Interesting sidenote as far as the Sega R360 goes, a working used unit can be yours for ~$25k..... http://www.keinert.com/ I swear, if I weren't broke as a joke I'd consider buying one, although it has to be a maintenance nightmare.

If I had and extra $24k lying around I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

How much do new arcade games like this cost per play? With the card, it seems like you never really know...

I could honestly say that $1.50 is a realistic estimate based on the number of credits that would come off of your D&B card to play it...

    Yeah - sounds about right.

I hate those cards! Why can't they just use quarters or tokens, like normal people?
