That box art is absolute quality.

Out of interest, what do you reckon to the two N64 games; is it worth playing through both of them? I did play the original, but I'm interested in how much the game chaged for its upgrade.

    Good question.

The original Castlevania 64 was originally intended to have 3 or 4 playable characters. Reinhardt, Carrie, Cornell, and a character who never appeared in either version named Corler, who is believed to have been turned into the invincible Frankenstein monster in the garden maze for the final release.

Basically, Legacy of Darkness is what the original release SHOULD have been. More levels, 4 unique playable characters with different stories and play modes, and more polish. An added bonus is it works with the expansion pack, though it doesnt add much IMO besides smoother edges.

I also played CV64 first, and LOD second. I found it to be a bit more of an upgrade, its a significant enough improvement to warrant purchase and playthrough.

    I hope that helps.

It's only 18, going on 19 Less collecting, more playing! ;D

Nice PAL poster. I recently saw some item with those broken teeth on it...guess I'll have to look for more, heh.

Here's my Castlevania stuff. Lament of Innocence (PS2) is missing.

Lord Contaminous: I know this is off topic, but that Guilty Gear animation you have, is that from a real anime?

Arasoi, you scurre me man! you'll make Ed Oscuro and Kurt Kalata cry like the man who just lost his dog in the hidden room in 6-2

Actually, there are tons of people out there who have more CV games than I do (I just have dupes of a number of them, and no plans to sell them right now). As far as jealousy, nah, I'm over that.

Right now I'm working on Contra stuff, anyhow. Though I could go for a DXX Holy Bible, as well as the guides to the FC CV games...

Hey Ed, check out some of the oddball guides here. That Akumajo Densetsu one looks pretty strange!

Yeah, the site owner posts at the CVD now and then. Which guide do you mean? The eyeball, or the purple haired Trevor one (I admit that is rather strange)?

I meant the.. effeminate looking purple haired Trevor. Id guess the guide is unofficial, but I also wonder if theres some kind of crazy artwork in there like the cover.

Does that french site owner actually OWN all those guides?

We should ask him for scans

He does. And no, they all appear to be glue bound, and I can speak from experience when I say you can't scan those without ripping pages out.

One of these days they'll make a scanner attachment that can scan inside a book open to only 45 degrees. Until then...

His game collection is pretty good too, though lacking some of the more oddball items.

I believe that blank looking Super Famicom cart is one of the ones you took to the store and plugged into the machine to flash a game on right? Interesting collectors item.
