I've got a question for you CV gurus. I love the series and have almost every US title + a few Japanese releases.

I have recently gotten a "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" Soundtrack Sampler CD which is excerpts from the soundtrack, in a cardsleeve with artwork that is very similar to the US PSX release. It's definitely from the USA and an official product. Does anyone know the origin of this disc and what the value might be?

That CD sampler was a pre-order bonus item with SOTN in its official release. Id rate its value between 20-45 dollars.

Easily, if you mean can it run Rondo. It would need to be a 32X CD game really (Frankly, the Sega CD could handle Rondo fine, with some pallete changes) as a cartridge would require the game to use the Yamaha SPU for music, or highly compressed tracks which would reduce the quality.

I was looking at a site about the 32X Un-released games..one game crossed my mind was Dracula X, I heard this game came to be Dracula X on the Saturn/PSX..The 32X couldn't handle SOTN, Maybe better then Bloodlines & Casltevania X..But we will never know, Konami never made a Beta

The 32X could probably handle SOTN, Im not a huge expert on its hardware but the only limitation that comes to mind is the RAM. But.. it could probably be worked around. SOTN is a fairly port-able game, as evidenced by the rather shoddy KCET Saturn port, which still works decently despite no effort at Saturn hardware optimizations whatsoever.

The DoS box is promotional stuff, like a poster, but only in box form. I asked myself on the previous page

    Hmmn, Cool boughts/finds.. ^.^

But, I have a question about your Castlevania collection:

How much money have you putted on your impressive Castlevania collection?
Like thousands and thousand of dollars? -.-

    Love, Captain Qb.

the LoI sound sampler, any value to the sampler?
The LOI sampler is fairly common.. 15-20 dollars at most.

More than is reasonable Im sure, lol. Couple grand, perhaps even more.. I think I quoted my total games expenditures at somewhere around 4000 in another thread, at least half that is CV. Im glad Im not married in any case, or my head would have been on a pike long ago.

He's the toughest boss in the game to boot. Huge amount of HP, dont even go near him unless you're high level or know what you're doing. (IE, have the beryl circlet or Shield Rod + alucard shield combo)

I really like Castlevania, and the size of some of your collections makes me very sad. ;_; All I've Got:

    Castlevania (NES)
    Castlevania II (NES)
    Castlevania III (NES)
    Super Castlevania IV (SNES)
    Castlevania: Dracula X (SNES)
    SOTN
    Circle of the Moon (GBA)
    Harmony of Dissonance (GBA)
    Aria of Sorrow (GBA)
    Castlevania Double Pack (GBA)
    Dawn of Sorrow (GBA)
    Lament of Innocence (PS2)

Also, all cart based games are non complete (with the exception of Dawn of Sorrow and the Double Pack)
Who the fuck reads this shit?

Actually, the 32x SotN could have been better in many respects - no need for loading rooms, for one. Of course the downside would've been the smaller cartridge and no CD-ROM quality audio (I'm sure they could've cooked up something nice though, Yamane had some experience on the Genesis and they would've had other sound programmers fresh out of the Genesis era to work on the project).

Agreed, though to keep media costs budget back in those days I imagine the cart size would be puny, resulting in massive content cutting and standard Yamaha renditions of the songs (though that would be very interesting to hear, especially with the 12 total audio channels on 32X cart)

Its almost certain Rondo will end up on the Wii's virtual console feature. Kind of a letdown for those who want to collect it, but it will be translated and playable I imagine. The real fun will be seeing if the translated version could be put back into a real Rondo Bin/Cue and played on a real Duo/TG16.
