Default Fixing the Vic-20 Paddle "joltey" problem...

What can I do to fix this? Seems like any paddles I use make whatever I am moving onscreen kind of "jolt" back and forth. Say for instance, in super smash, the paddle will move and work, but the graphic onscreen will be jolting rapidily left and right ever so slightly. Same with Clowns. And any other game that uses the paddles for that matter. I was using 2600 paddles for awhile, and then got ahold of some mint conditioned commodore paddles, but I get the same deal. I have opend them, cleaned them, wd-40'ed em (this made them somewhat better in movements), but still I get the "jolt". Any solutions or help is greatly appreciated.

WD-40 is a lubricant, not really a cleaner. Try a tuner cleaner from your local electronics shop. If that doesn't work, try playing them on Atari 2600 with games like Kaboom. If they move smoothly, you may have a faulty Vic-20. If they jerk a lot, your paddle could be worn out.

I second the tuner cleaner. If RatShack tuner cleaner doesn't stop the jitter, nothing will.
