Default How much should Earthbound really sell for?

For the last few days, I've been trying to win a cart only copy of Earthbound, only to have idiots super-outbid me into oblivion.. So I ask you guys, what should be a normal price for Earthbound be?

A couple of empty beer bottles, plus one empty pepsi bottle. That's how much it's worth to me.

The game doesn't interest me, as it's not my type, so I wouldn't pay more than $10 or so.

The "normal" price for anything is the average of what people are willing to pay, which in this case, seems like it is more than you want to. Granted, ebay will have higher prices than most other places, but that's because everyone knows you can always find one there. You are either going to have to bid into oblivion, or be patient until you can find a more suitable price.

    It goes for about $45-$55.

IMO though, people who plop down 50-60 for it are a bit crazy, esp. those willing to pay 60. With patience you can find one for 40 shipped, which was what I paid for it.

Depends how badly you want it, and how fast.

I find that with these high-priced, in-demand, yet fairly common games, if I am just patient enough, I'll run across one sooner or later. If this is a game that you feel you need RIGHT NOW, then you are going to have to pay for it. My advice is to either try to find one here or on another message board, or look for an eBay auction with a wierd ending time to try to limit the number of snipers.

I think if you look aound for only a month or so you could get one from Ebay for $40 without a problem if you want it within 3 weeks $50 and 1 week $60.
If you are ever in St louis stop by my store Trade-N-Games. I have a huge selection of vintage games along with the new systems. Or shop online now www.tradengames.com

Now that you mention it, you do bring up a good point. Last year, I was looking around for Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, and eventually I snatched up a cart-only copy for $36, which is pretty good to me considering how much people usually pay for on Ebay.

i currently own two loose copies of this one... although there's a bit of a backstory as to why i can't sell my second copy at the moment that i won't get into.

my first copy dropped me $3, my second, $5.

I got one off the forum here for a decent deal, I think 25-35$?

That's a fair price for a game I'll play, old or not, it just depends on you and what you value it... are you prepared to spend what the price is, if so, then its worth it, if not, its a ripoff.

That's so true. Having hunted NGT for 4-5 months this year, every damn copy I saw 45+... usually low 50s mid 50s. It was insane. I started regretting passing on a copy that was $44 shipped.

I lucked out though winning one for an incredible $25 shipped, and it wasn't a BIN. Just caught people sleeping, I guess. If I didn't come along, the 2nd high bidder would have won it for like $20 shipped. Boy I bet he sure was pissed as hell at me.
