    Default possible ebay problem?

I purchased something off of ebay, and the situation has me worried. First of all, I purchased an item a little while ago. They stated on the auction that it would be shipped within 48 hours of purchase, and I paid for first class. By those specifications, I should have recieved it early last week (we don't live too far from eachother according to their stated location).

Now, I am usually more patient when it comes to waiting for items, but I noticed a few things after I purchased it that have me worried. First of all, they had a small positive rating so I went ahead with the purchse. Upon closer inspection, I found all of their positive ratings were from 1 or 2 cent auctions all purchased at once, probably to get a good rating from a zero. Second, they had a picture of the item, and it wasn't some press pic, but an actual photo someone took from home. When I went through the completed auctions, I found that they have lifted the photo from someone else's auction.

Now, I realize this may be me being paranoid, but I have written three times, and I have not recieved a response yet. I know that it is still early in the auction process, but I want to make sure I'm prepared in case there is something sketchy with this bidder.

I purchased it through paypal, paid for insurance, and paid with paypal buyer credt (which I guess is apparently safer?). I guess the bottom line is DO I HAVE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT? Am I covered if this turns out to be a scam? Thanks.

Probably, how about some auction links? Is it a high end item?

    Whoops... Here you go...

I realize it hasn't been too long, but all of the stuff I mentioned has me worried, and I want to make sure I'm prepared for anything. Plus, by the shipping settings they claimed, I should have it by now.

I hate feedback buyers. There's no reason to purchase feedback unless you have something that you're trying to hide or you're trying to bullshit people into thinking that you do more business than you really do. This usually leads to a scam down the road.

If it were more than a few weeks I'd probably file a chargeback with PayPal. If there's money in the seller's account PayPal will hold it until the seller provides proof that he shipped your item to you. If you end up getting the item in the mean time you can always cancel the chargeback. It may piss off the seller that his money is being held but it wouldn't have ever come to that if he'd returned your emails to him.

By the way.. Here's the previous auction they lifted the photo from.

Note the missing volume knob described in the previous auction.

    good eye. and good catch.

if worst comes to worst, you can always pay them a friendly visit. (depends on how far is "not too far away." I recently won a game from a person 15 miles from me. She refused to have me pick up in person, but I knew she wouldn't screw me b/c if she did I was just a 15 minute drive away)

Meeting in person, or the possibility of, always concerns a potential scammer.

It would actually be a couple of hours away. I don't think my car would make it that far! I think we are kind of close as far as the post office is concerned, but nothing I'm willing to drive to!

I just filed a claim. The whole thing just seems too fishy to me...
