Default Factory sealed PS1 longboxes question

    Hey all,

I recently acquired four shrinkwrapped copies of the early PS1 game "D", which were sold to me as new.

I don't know a whole lot about the early longbox games, but none of them have a white security sticker on the top that all the later jewel case PS1 games and older PS2 games had. Is this normal?

Although one of the copies has a few minor rips in the shrinkwrap on the back, they're all sealed identically. There is a seam (like those on the back of factory sealed NES/SNES/GBA game boxes) along the top, spine, and bottom. Looking at the manuals through the front of the case, they look absolutely mint and untouched.

Does this sound genuine for a longbox (Sega CD/Saturn type), or did I get burned? I got them cheap enough that I won't feel too bad if they aren't, but I intend to resell them and want to advertise them accurately.

I did try searching the forum and got a couple hits along the same lines but none answered my question exactly.

    Thanks.

Longboxed titles never had a security sticker on them. Those only came about when Sony moved to the CD sized case for their games, and they stopped putting them on the PS2 games last summer (right about the time Metal Slug 4/5 came out).

It more than likley is, being that the shrink wrap on those older games was of the 'soft' type like your describing and the few sealed longboxes that i've got have the seals like that on them too. Your only garantee (mind you i'm not saying that these arn't the real deal, as these probably are) is if it has one of those hang tabs on the back of the box, but not all Longboxes came with those on them.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.
