I'm curious how much an atari 400 goes for about and are the games pretty closely priced like atari 2600 games or not?

Is there any reason you are interested in a 400 over the 800? The Atari 800 has twice the RAM (8k vs. 16k), a real keyboard vs. the flat membrane on the 400, and is somewhat more expandable. I've seen both machines in good working condition sell for $20 or less on eBay.Originally Posted by cmislin
I don't run across 400/800 games as often as I do for Atari's other systems, but when I do they're usually lumped in with piles of "old carts" for a buck or two.
Well i kind of a consulting to a friend of mine that has a independent came shop and he had a 400 come in. But so far I haven't been able to get it power on. I know the ac adaptor is ok I used a volt meter to check it so something on the system must be wrong. Cause when I hook it up I get no red light when turned on and no channel flicker. I'm going to scourer the net for some ideas of where to start. But if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.
I figured out that the power supply must have a short or something in it cause I tested moving it around and sometimes it will stay on other times it will flicker off. I don't think I will need any help in repairing anything thank you though.
Check the connection & switch in the 400, too, as they're prone to going bad.
As to game quality, the 400 is pretty much identical to the 5200 but with a much larger library and several exclusive titles.
Thank you for all the advice I know for certainty that its the power supply you plug to the wall but it has not visible damage it must be internal on a few spots on the line running to the wall. I have other mean powersupplies I can use I have a few variable ones and enough attachments to fit anything. But thanks for the help.
