Default Retro Computer Finds - Post Yours Here!

We can't let all those crappy console-playing collectors have all the fun now, can we? Still buying retro computers, hardware and games? Along with the official "finds" thread in the Classic Gaming Forum, feel free to post your classic computer finds only in this thread as well! This thread will most likely be locked when this forum ju jour is over, so get your computer finds in now!

This morning while thrifting, I found and bought:

    Apple IIc (working) - $17.50

    Dreamhouse Professional (PC) - $3.50
    Leisure Suit Larry 1 (PC/VGA) - $3.50
    Leisure Suit Larry 3 (PC/VGA) - $3.50
    Space Quest 1 (PC/VGA) - $3.50

All the programs are 100% complete, down to the warranty registration cards.

I also found (but passed on) a complete Mac IIsi with monitor and mouse for $15, but may go back for it.

My mom won an auction lot for a bunch of old junk and at the bottom of the box was a TRS-80 PC-4 Cassette Interface and some printer to computer cable. Too bad I don't have the equipment to use it.

Found 3 sealed Commodore 64 games at Value Village. Kind of expensive at $6 a piece, but I have a weak spot for C64 games.

My C64 is packed away at the moment. I'm just gonna have to dig it up!

At lunch today I found Ultima III: Exodus complete for the C64 for $1.48, and a spare Commodore 1541 drive for $5 I think.

Hmmm, how's about this haul last week:
    7 Commodore 128's (4 boxed, one unopened)
    6 C64's (3 breadbox + 3 64C's), 3 boxed
    3 VIC-20s (2 boxed)
    2 Plus/4s (both boxed)
    6 1571 drives (4 boxed)
    6 1541s (2 boxed)
    1 1581 (boxed)
    1 IBM PCjr
    1 Apple IIGS
    1 CoCo2 (unopened)
    1 CoCo3
    2 Coco disk drives
    2 TI-99/4As (boxed)
    1 Amiga 500
    1 Amiga 2000
    2 Atari 520STs
    1 Atari 1040ST
8 ST disk drives + 1 hard drive
    1 Atari 130XE
    1 Atari 65XE
a couple of big boxes of books & manual.
Not much software, but lots of other goodies (promenade Eprom burner, boxed Magic Voice, ram expansions, etc). Boxes full of mice, cables, power supplies and other related crap.

All from one guy's moving sale. My back still hurts from hauling it.

$250. More than I'd hoped to pay but I really wanted the Promenade and there are several other choice bits in there. I'm still working on unpacking it and found an Atari 800, another 520ST and a TRS-80 MC-10 in one of the boxes, bringing the total number of computers up to 34. I think. Works out to ~$7 a system.

Sweet haul!! If you want to make some of that money back, I'd love to buy a boxed 128 and 1571!

I'm surprised it took that long for someone to ask Unfortunately almost all of it went into my storage locker and I can't bring anything home or test it until my remodel is done.

I'd have asked sooner if I saw the thread before today!!

Keep me in mind when you get a chance to look it all over.

Good luck with that remodel. It's always nice when they are done and you can get back to normal, but rough while you are doing them! I've lived in too many houses that were still under construction!

I found a complete copy of The Colonel's Bequest with everything but instructions yesterday for $1 at some church sale. Anyone know what this is worth?

Can't say it's worth much at all. I picked it up complete for 50 cents and there's nothing on eBay to do estimates on. Most of the time old DOS games are worth between $1-10 complete, more rare or high demanding ones go for a bit more. So really just play it and if you like it, good, if not oh well, $1.

Picked up a Commodore SX-64 (luggable version of the C=64) at a flea market today for all of $20. Came with the original keyboard cable (often missing), and is in very good shape. My best computer find since my Apple Lisa.

Picked up an Atari 800XL at the MIT swapfest for $15. Came with a bunch of cartridges, a 1050 disk drive, a 1027 daisywheel printer, and a bunch of other peripherals, including something called a MIDITracker II. Should be interesting to mess around with.

Not all that classic but I grabbed an IBM 300PL.
    Stats:
    400/512/100/2.0v PII
    100 MHz FSB
    Maxtor 3.8 GB HD
    2x 128 IBM SDRAM
    14-32x LG CD-ROM
    3.25" Floppy double density

According to the original model information on IBMs website this sytem has had the memory upgraded and that's it. I tried to get the system to turn on but no luck and with the method the power switch is hooked up (through a riser card) it could be any number of things that's making it not turn on. I fooled with it for about 90 minutes and gave up so I'm transfering parts to other systems for upgrades.

    Price: $3.50
