Default Sharp X68000 and about 95 original boxed games

    Hi,

I'm currently selling my X68000 Pro computer with over 100 games. The X68000 was a classic Japan only 16 bit computer which at the time of release cost a kings random but featured near arcade quality graphics and sound. This made it a popular platform for arcade conversions but there also some X68000 specific gaming gems available. For more information check out the auction:

Aside from flogging my system, I'd be interested in knowing if anybody else own an X68000 and what their impression of the system is? I remember when I was an avid ACE reader that the X68000 and FM Towns would occasionally get a mention.

    Cheers
    John

    WOW.

I wish I had the bank for that! Best of luck on the auction!

I have only played the x68k though emulation and it must have been the sickest thing out there when it was released.

WOW! That is totally sweet. I am tempted but it's out of my price range. That's about $750.00 in U.S. funds and the shipping would kill me!!

I know this sounds bad, but I've never even heard of that gaming system.

Thanks for the feedback. Its quite a collection and took a long time to put together - not to mention a lot of money being paid to the Japanese postal service

The closest you'd get to the X68000 in terms of computer released in the west is the MSX 2. In fact the systems were really aimed at the same market i.e. computer geeks with quite a bit of money and a love of arcade games, text RPGs and hentai stuff. Its still my favourite home computer system of all time.

If you want to find out more I'd suggest checking out Win68k or FM7 both excellent Windows based X68000 emulators.
