Default Pics of 16-system console rack

    Hi all,
Spent the last week working on a webpage of my videogame hardware
projects. It's mostly done now, and thought I'd share the address:
    www94.pair.com/jsoper
It's my first webpage and I'm still learning, you're welcome to email constructive
    criticism.

The shelf unit itself has 16 consoles and will support 22 game types. Just need
to find time to play them all

    John,

it looks good, but very messy.. the most important thing is wire management. Have a place to hang the controllers and twist tie all the other wires (power and RF) cleanly.

Then, depending on what system you want to play, you'll take the correct joystick, plug it in, play, and then put away.

Systems look the best when you can't see any wires!

    Good luck!

    I agree with LeonK.

I've gone through a few iterations of my setup and the ones where I don't bother connecting the controllers always looks *way* better than having those wires all over the place. I also used to stack the games beside the console but, again, it looks better when they're stacked on their own somewhere else.

Never mind the console rack... when are you gonna make more of those Atari 2600 units built out of Dreamcast controllers?!

    THAT's cool.

Thanks DP, but that portable took about 100 hours in the lab, and duplicating it would be maybe 30 or 40. Maybe I'll get laid off and that will be the only way to put food on the table

And if you guys thinks the front looks messy, wait till I post a rearview photo, that'll really make you lose your lunch, especially down near the switchboxes. IMHO, most systems look ok, the controllers sit on top with just enough slack so the cable doesn't make sharp bends (sharp bends BAD). However the merged Atari did get messy because of all the controllers. I piled them on top of the Odyssey2 because, well, it's just fun to pick on an O2.

I do have a bunch of 2x2 foot black planter trays that nurseries use. Thought of scubbing the mud off and using them for either back paneling or side platforms for the controllers to lay in. Will come up with something eventually.

Man, thought people would be criticizing the primitive webpage, not the projects, grump-grump
