Was that article even edited before it was posted?? I agree that now seems to be a good time to break into the video game publishing business, but I think the reasons why so much young talent is being given a shot is 1 - youngins work for less and 2 - a lot of talented designers/programmers were either laid off or driven out of the business by the insane hours and deadline expectations. Let's hope it's better now.

I think the end of the article made the biggest point - instead of companies waiting for the ideal candidate to walk through the door or stealing workers from other companies, the company themself has to take an active role and set up mentoring programs and work closely with the schools to get people where they want to be. This is true in all industries. This would also be a win-win for everybody involved.
