    Default One Must Fall 2097

Any love for this game? I remember when my friend first discovered this game, and we played the hell out of it on his insanely fast Packard Bell PC with a Pentium! He even had a Gravis Gamepad to top it off. Man, I love this game!

To anyone who bought it back in the day: Was it strictly a mail order deal, or was there also a retail release for the full game? The box shot is for the shareware version according to MobyGames. I can't remember if there was, but if it does exist, I'd love to have the retail package in my PC collection.

EDIT: Hmm, looks like the link to the box shot went kaput.

My first PC games and favorite game of all-time.

Yeah, I loved it too. I liked the fact that it wasn't as violent as similar fighters of it's day. Plus, it's the only fighter for PC that I ever liked.

Epic did at least have a fancy "deluxe registered version" of some sort, which is probably documented in the game's ordering info. I believe that is the version you can buy from Epic Classics. But no retail version, if I am not mistaken.

The full "CD-ROM" version (it's only six megs - nothing fancy) was made available as a free download when the sequel, One Must Fall: Battlegrounds, was released. Not sure if it's still officially available.

That's a link I found from omf.com for the full cd version. I've had it for years, but I've never seen or had an "actual" copy of it ever. $22 isn't that bad for that package at Epic Classics. Thanks for the link. I'd love to have the guide and poster to it.

The only time I've ever seen it on eBay was a shareware disc here and there. I haven't been in a hurry to play the sequel since I've heard nothing but bad things about it. I'll give it a whirl eventually.

I'm always looking for new boxed NES accessories. If you've got any for sale, shoot me a PM!

I bought this game a few years back from somewhere (it was only like 99 cents or something lol), and it came with 2 disk ones and no disk two. Thank god for Abandonware.

I still consider One Must Fall 2097 to be the best PC fighting game I've ever played. I love how the options menu actually lets you tweak the engine enough to turn off juggling and alter timing and stuff like that. Some of the characters were a little unbalanced at times (I basically tore up everyone with the Jaguar), but the game was ridiculously fun.

Anyone ever tried the One Must Fall Demo? That is, the one that actually has humans fighting rather than robots, and doesn't have "2097" in the name? I played it once a long time ago.

It's my understanding that was a beta version. It's available at Home of the Underdogs, anyway.

I absolutely enjoyed OMF 2097. Too bad we only had the shareware version, but I played the hell out of it.

OMF 2097 is one of my favorite PC fighters too, although I wonder if it still holds up well after all these years.

I also liked that Jazz Jackrabbit was one of the pilots you'd have to fight. "I came here to kick butt and eat carrots, and I'm all out of carrots"
