Default Open NES vs. Cat Pee

My cat decided to urinate in a NES I have been working on (the NES did not have top of the casing on it and it was not plugged in). I have not actually tried hooking it back up yet, because I am uncertain about what steps to take before hand to insure that the NES will still function.

I know about cleaning contacts, but the board itself? What can it be cleaned, and will cleaning be enough or should I consider it an already lost cause?

Anyone here wise to the effects of urine vs. electronics?
They call me Ha-do-ken, cause I'm down, right, fierce.

Wash with distilled water and let it dry for a few days.

If its too bold for you, try use some sort of flux/electronics contact cleaner. It evaporates completely taking whatever junk is on the board with it.

You could probably stick it in the dishwasher like they do with arcade PCBs

Does washing the PCB really fix anything, or does it just clean it?
