Default Unexpected change of pace... (Starfox DS)

Gamespot has posted a hands-on preview of the Japanese version of StarFox Command:

    http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/st...ml?sid=6155363

Apparently, the new Starfox title for the DS will for the most part be turn based strategy (!!!), with small action levels\sequences thrown in whenever you intercept an enemy

I don't know about you, but I was hoping to get a classic StarFox game (like the SNES\N64 ones), and this news is slightly disappointing. Although I'm a big fan of turn based strategy games, Starfox Command seems to be shallow and uninteresting. As they say, if it ain't broke why try to fix it?

The Star Fox series has been in the shitter for awhile now, it's not really suprising that Nintendo managed to screw it up again.
Mostly just play Nintendo 64. If you've got games PM me! Cart only.

guess ill be 'the other side' here. for me this is actually good news, the DS controls suck for 3d, and i hate playing those games (mario 64ds) with stylus. i wasnt even thinking of looking at this game, but this looks interesting, ill give it a shot.

Oddly, a faithful sequel to the SNES and N64 versions would probably have fitted in more with Nintendo's philosophy of appealing to new gamers. At things stands, this seems too complicated and low on action.

I'm still hopeful, though. And I'm still importing. I need to draw my own conclusions.
