Super 8 Stripey Graphics Mod

Has anyone ever successfully fixed the stripey graphics problem with the Super 8? I was playing ff3j and the vertical striping is starting to irritate me. I tried hooking up a 1000 uF capacitor like it says in the Super 8 FAQ but all I get is a black screen. Are there any other values I should try out? My nes is out of commission so the Super 8 is my only means of playing nes games.

Perhaps it is like the new mod that came out recently for the top loader NES models? I believe the plans are somewhere in the nesdev forums at nesdev.parodius.com/bbs. Might not hurt to make a post there.

I just plugged in a 100 uF capacitor I had laying around and it seemed to help the striping problem a bit. I'll try plugging in some intermediate values if I ever stop by the electronics store.
