Default Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru (psychic killer) for Sega saturn

I bought a copy of Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru for the Sega Saturn and holy crap is this game difficult! This has to be one of the most difficult games I have ever played. Admittedly, I just got it in the mail today and only played it for an hour or so, but it is insanely difficult. Anyone that has played this have any opinion on it or tips?

I have no opinion of the game unfortunately. But I was curious to know how much it cost you? I have decided to try and track one down. Just wondering how much money I need to set aside.

I got it for $225 shipped
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

that is actually a really good deal too, they usually go well over $300. user did not even list sega or saturn in the title, though. I was searching for the game and had it on my auto search and it showed up. its a good game, it is a 2d game similar in style to shinobi or ninja gaiden. incredibly difficult, though. it has so much going on the screen at once as well.

How in the world did you manage that? I am a master at shinobi and pretty much any other similar game, but this game just has SO much going on and your attack radius is so small. You do get an insanely large life bar, though, so once I master the attacking, I could see the game as easier but there is no way this game is simple.

indeed, all 26 bosses, and yes, the videos are mine.

Raregamergirl, first off congratulations on winning this game. It isn't THAT hard, and you're right it was your 1st time only an hour in. As you play more you'll realize it's of average difficulty, at best. (crank up the difficulty option though and the game will be a lot harder)

If you want it to be superquick and super easy, though, just put on the AutoFire option on your controller if it supports it. This does make the game insanely easy but:

    A) It eliminates hand cramps and Carpel Tunnel Syndrome (sp?)

    and

    B) To me at least, the game becomes funner 10 fold.

Back to the videos, here is one of the boss videos (you can see the others by the links provided on the page)

sorry the sound is out of sync (bad camera) and sorry for the less than AAA visual quality (there's some vaseline, I know) but hey, it's free and yeah.

HEADS UP TO THE DP COMMUNITY -- Save up some $$$ for I will be auctioning off my TAROMARU copy circa September-November 2006. I am unsure when quite yet, but it will be before December 2006 for sure. It will be a 7-day NO reserve 1 cent starting bid auction

I've owned this copy since February 28, 2003 and have played and enjoyed it to death, but I could use the money in a month or two and will be moving it.

insane video's, will indeed put it on autofire. its a great game from what I played, very impressive for a 2d sidescrolling action game. There is always so much going on at once on the screen (well after the first few minutes at least). I recommend it to any saturn fan as there are very few games like it on the saturn. Might just be one of those games as you play more that you pick it up easily. Autofire will honestly help a lot too.
    thanks much

I can get fairly far into the game on 1 credit. JP, who I don't think posts here (but does at shmups and Assembler) has done a 1 Life Clear, so it is possible. Great game.

It's more of a 2D/3D hybrid, isn't it? 2D gaming on a 2D plane but set in a world comprised of a mixture of polygons and sprites? I remember thinking it was damned impressive-looking when I first played it. It's been awhile. I had a hard time with it too except for this one time when I has a Zen moment of mad skills and made it pretty far. Don't know what happened but I never repeated it.
Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~
