Default Ever regret selling your games?

I know it’s probably been asked before but have you ever regretted selling your old games?

I used to have a decent amount of Sega Saturn games when I was 17 (now am 23) I had Panzer Dragoon Saga, Metal Slug and a bunch of rare games and being an idiot that I am I sold them. It’s a bitch trying to recollect the games

Any one else have similar experiences

I used to regret selling my NES games when I was much younger, but now I have all the games I used to and so much more.

Needless to say, I'm over it.
I go online sometimes, but ... everyone's spelling is really bad, and it's ... depressing.

I sorta regret selling some PSX games in college but I can get them back cheap if I try.

I DO regret letting a friend of mine borrow my old 5200 and a mess of games way back in the early 90's... I never saw them again.

Years later, I realized the system and games were gone for good so I threw away all the BOXES and INSTRUCTIONS for all those games. I REALLY regret that. What the hell was I thinking?!?

I regret selling a few N64 games, but they were nothing to special, so its not too bad.

I don't remember selling any of my old games from when I was a kid, but I definitely remember giving a lot of them away to my friends.
Back then I thought to myself "Pfft... when am I going to need this boxed N64 game in the future?"
5 years later I'm going for a complete N64 collection and still don't have all the games that I once had.

Fortunately, I've kept almost everything over the years and never really sold anything (except a few SNES games). Although, I have "lost" quite a few boxes and manuals over the years (especially the early stuff), and this I do regret. :/

I've never sold a single game in my life.. I don't think if I'd even really know how to!

Actually on that thought I've never sold a single THING.. ever. If I get rid of something usually I either toss it or just give it away.

I used to sell off everything. I've owned pretty much everything mainstream (and not so mainstream) over the years, but sold it all off just to get a few bucks to get the latest and greatest.

    I really regret that.

Luckily I'm managing to rebuild my collection one system (and game) at a time.

The only thing I've always held onto was my SNES Crono Trigger Save files still work on it too

Never have, but nearly did a few times

I almost sold my copy of Diddy Kong Racing to get Zelda: OOT (I still have my old DKR and now I have Zelda: OOT too!)

Also, I almost sold my Nintendo 64 to get a Gamecube (Thankfuly, I didn't. Gamecube sucks compared to N64 and SNES)

Right after they walk out the door.

The most recent one that hurt was the Gamecube Zelda Compelation disk.

I got it in a trade and it was only the disk. The disk was really scratched up. I was suprised it even played.

Sold it for $15 then saw the complete game for $45 on Ebay. i might have been able to get more. Not sure though.

Before that I sold a Sega Genesis system. I had a bunch of games. But, they only wanted to pay for 5 of them.

So, now i have 52 Sega Genesis games that are just collecting dust.

I sort of regret selling off my DC collection, which was pretty sizable. I was working the electronics dept. at Target when it was being discontinued, so I picked up a TON of stuff.

I say "sort of" because I had to sell the stuff off to pay for food/rent when I was out of work for a few months, so it was lkind of necessary for life and all. Still, I miss my DC, and if I would have waited, I would have gotten MUCH more money.

I had a ton of good Sierra compilations which I sold to do something a few years back. Something I now regret.

    Ah well.

I'm very select with what I sell if it's the only copy I own. Only if I truly know I won't miss it, will I sell it.

Doubles are gone w/o second thought.

But yeah, the key is to be rational, and if you don't have to sell it, don't.

I regret selling my mint in the box Virtual Boy and 7 mint in the box games. I picked it up at Electronics Boutique when they were blowing them out for $20 or whatever it was.

I made a fair amount on it, but now I wish I still had it.

I didn't sell it, but for some reason, I took scissors to all of my good condition intellivision boxes as a kid. I cut the names out and stuck them to these cartridge-binder things

I came to a crossroad in my collecting. Do or do not sell the completely unused systems. I finally decided to sell of the unused items. There are a few things that I wish I still had but, I never used them

-Complete in box Jaguar (bought new by me and was the definition of mint and complete). Including a complete boxed Alien-vs-Predator, complete in box Tempest 2000, sealed Jaguar S-video cable.

-Complete in box Dreamcast “Sonic pack” (again, bought new by me and was also complete and mint). Other games like Marvel-vs-Capcom 2 were also sold.

-Laseractive with Sega pack, Japanese Mega Drive pack and two complete mint LD games.

All were really great things but I NEVER used them. They were sold to fund a consolozed Neo Geo MVS and some games like Metal Slug 1,X,3, Samurai Shodown I-IV, Garou MotW, Blazing Star, Super Dodge Ball and many others.

Although I miss those items, the Neo Geo is king of my gaming castle

I have trouble selling any classic games. I bought a group of snes games once to resell and once they showed up, I wasnt able to and ended up keeping them.

Since then i have forced myself to sell half of them off. I mean do i really need a copy of pagemaster for the genesis AND snes?

It most healthy mentally to probably break off any attachments to posessions (including games) you don't need or use. Fortunately I am not mentally healthy and can therefore hoard all the games I want

About 2 years ago I traded in 3 games for the first time in 10 years, for 1 game. I wasn't thinking straight. Since then I re-couped the original games I traded in.

I don't trade in games anymore. Not sure what I was thinking the one time that I did.

Not at all! In fact, I just sold Final Fantasy VII for $75 on eBay. That game was boring as hell.

Using the money from that, I bought 6 new PS2 games. Among them: Shadow of the Colossus, Katamari Damacy, Ratchet and Clank, and God of War.

FF7 = most overrated game of all time.
