Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition Case - a close look

Hello there!

For all of you who plan to purchase FF XII CE I would like to present with the actual metal case/box images. Besides the obvious content and the game itself this metal case is actually very nice and highly crafted. Definetly worth the additional $10.

Make sure that local shop is an EB or Gamestop they are the only place to get it.

In an odd move those cases they sent to Gamestop/EB to display are THE cases. No "for display only" marking and the UPC on the back will scan as the FFXII collector's edition.

No, not really. I used to be a EB store mgr for two years and this is a common thing. Those cases are expensive to make, so it makes sense to me sending a final product.

First party games from Sony, Nintendo and XBox DO have a "For display only" logo most of the time, but third party publishers often send a final product cover. On my site all I marked those covers FDO in the title.

One interesting thing, Ninja Gaiden for Xbox first cover has a very different picture from the final product. Worth checking out.

It looks cool, but I'll probably just end up getting the regular release later on down the road, as I wasn't that impressed with the RE4 CE.

Actually maybe I'll just wait and get the FFXII CE off ebay in about six months when the price is down.

I remember the last "Limited Edition" game I bought. I think it sold more than the normal edition. I am referring to Halo 2.

I've been working at various GameStops for over two years now and this is one of the few times I've encountered this situation (obviously it happens semi-regularly, but like I said it's kind of unusual for GameStop, not that it matters since it's all the same company now anyway). Games initial coming soon/promotional covers having totally different imagery from the final product is nothing new though.

You think that's bad? In this region I have NEVER seen a regular edition MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf in person.

I was taking a look at this the other day in Gamestop. I liked, alot like the RE4 CE case and quite sturdy.

So... in theory we can shop lift the demo cases and buy the cheaper edition of the game later. Not that I would... erm... *coughs*

Taking a closer look at the open case pic, you can see the Steelbook logo inside. This is the same company that did the Company of Heroes Collector's Edition which is a really nice case.
