my nes goes on and off when i turn it on. please help me find what part i need. if u have the part, how much would u sell it for?

Do a search on new 72 pin connectors or cleaning your nes . There's info all over this site about it.

I assume we're talking about the blinking/flashing syndrome? If so, I'd do as stated above. There's a wealth of information, and if that is indeed the problem, the fix itself is simple and inexpensive.

For me it was just a simple case of cleaning the cartridge contacts on the games and the NES itself.

It works perfectly now...almost! Some of my games (Mario 1 & 3) still blink or just show grey screen whhen you turn it on. But it's a simple case of just taking out the cartridge and putting it in again. Presto!

This may not work for you though, especially if your connectors on the NES are too far gone.

But I have to settle with cleaning carts because 72-pin connectors are impossible to get in Australia.

Why are they impossible to get? I am sure there are a number of people (including me) on this site who could help you out.

it still doesnt work when i clean the cartridges. i guess i have to get a new 72 pin connector.

You'll need a new pin connecter.trust me,after that you won't have any problems anymore.

Thanks for the offer Darth Vader, but my NES doesn't give me much trouble. Not enough trouble justify getting a new connector.

I'll wait and see if it gets any worse.
