Default Official X360 Collectors Thread (Renamed)

Hey guys, new to digital press forums (although had been using the online rarity guide for quite some time!) and am a 6 1/2 year member of GameFAQs, so you might know me from there.

Anyway, I'm interested in seeking out those who are collecting Xbox 360 games (particularly looking for completists). I've only found a couple people on GameFAQs, but I'm guessing I'd find a couple more here for sure!

It be nice to get a community of us together to help find good deals on new releases (or past ones to fill missing holes), or just joke about all the crappy games we (are forced to) have. As you probably know, on even a nice budget, it can be tough to afford all the releases. I'll post a checklist here to get this topic started...

Total by end of 2006: 87 (94 counting multiple versions)

I'll be at 31 at the end of the week, I definitely have some holes to fill--but I'm staying true to the new releases and waiting on my old holes as they become more affordable. I pre-oredered the "junk" releases that are coming out all next week (including Open Season). Hehe, they may end up to all be good, but I'm guessing we got a couple stinkers coming up.

btw, I have found 1 person that does have all 56 games right now, but no one who has all 60 releases. Don't know how big a concern that is for the completist collector out there (getting all the versions)?

Do you care about the Call of Duty 2 Game of the Year variant? The SKU is the same but the cover is different and it's bundled with the multiplayer/Live interface updates as well as an extra DVD with some bonus materials.

    Chromehounds
    Condemned: Criminal Origins
    Dead or Alive 4
    Dead Rising
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Limited Collector's Edition
    Far Cry Instincts: Predator
    Hitman: Blood Money
    Kameo: Elements of Power
Perfect Dark Zero Limited Collector's Edition
    Prey Limited Collector's Edition
    Quake IV
    Rockstar Games Presents: Table Tennis

These are the games I think everyone should have (unless you have a good PC, then Quake IV and Oblivion aren't really worth it). I own more Live Arcade games for the system than I do physically released ones.

ah, the COD2 GOTY, totally forgot about that, will update the list, now at 61 if you include the variants...

The big deal to me is just having each game, regardless of variants. But I imagine some people on here are variant hounds too and try to get all those.

I'm up to 33 of the titles, none of the variants and basically none of the sports titles. I'll wait on those and pick them up cheap. I really need to start playing more of them.

Same here mostly, the only exceptions I make to that are my beloved Megami Tensei and Dragon Slayer franchises. Gotta catch'em all.

I don't know why anyone would want a complete 360 collection at this time though. You couldn't pay me to own stuff like Samurai Warriors 2, College Hoops (hasn't been good since the PS2 was new), American Wasteland, etc.

Yeah... seems sort of a waste to pay $40 - $60 for launch 360 games at this point when you know a lot of those ports will will drop drastically once the libray starts to beef it's self up.

Guess it's all about the bragging rights.

Actually I shop the bargins, the last 360 game I paid more then 40 bucks for was Enchanted Arms, other then that I get almost all mine for less then 30 bucks.

    Default arcade titles

Yeah, collecting arcade titles is another deal...what worries me about that collection is if HD space gets too small. I suppose one could purchase another HD for more space and swap HD's when you want to play other games. I don't know if this is a problem yet for those who have all of them. I have 7-8, I also have the XBLA game for my collection too, so I guess I'm over 10 (haven't popped in that disc yet...)

Some older games you can nab real cheap already. I still need games like NBA 2K6 and FIFA RTWC, I can prob get those for $5 at most on ebay, especailly once the 07's come out.

Hehe, I actually have all three of the games you mentioned. College Hoops I've always been a big fan of, and 2K6 was fun (esp. online) but the cheap AI in tougher difficulties ruined it. THAW was alright to blow through, that series has gotten old. And I'm looking forward to Samurai Warriors 2 coming in the mail this week ;-) haha, should be fun...I hope...wondering if that or Open Season will be the stinker this week...hoping Cabela's game is going to be a fun surprise.
