Default Anyone Ever RECREATE a Turbografx 16 Side Label????

Is there any sites with any good images on a pic of the side art of a game for the TG 16. i have some games i would like to recreate the side sticker on the side of the case, it doesnt have to look perfect just get the job done.

or does anyone here make them? or know where i could buy them?

(im talking about the sticker on the side of a turbografx game case, that has the title of a game on it)

I've done it. I do it for every loose game I get, so they have a nice, safe place on the shelf.

I don't recall exactly, but I believe I originally scanned 1 case spine. Afterwards it was fairly simple to use photoshop to remove the original game name and substitute a new one.

They look fairly good; they are passable as the real thing if you're looking at them from several feed. I didn't make actual stickers though; I created a cd case insert which incorporated just the spine art.

That's what I did the one time I did it as well. I scanned the side of another game and then found the matching TG-16 spine font (there are a few out there that look just like it) and made a new one.

I'd also like to make some spine labels for games like Air Zonk and Bomberman '94... If someone could post a link to an acceptable font, as well as a "blank" spine image to use as a base, I (as well as the original posted I'm sure) would very much appreciate it!

OK I actually attempted to do this and i scanned a side label and took it into paint and fixed it up with different font and it looked awesome. although its like the size of half a sheet of paper. and i dont know how to resize it back down to the size of a cd side label? Anyone have any advice on how to resize an image without having to shrink it and distort it??? any info would be great! please let me know thanks!

You can also throw it right into CD Cover Pro. It will take ANY size image and print it as a cd-insert.

Thing is I'll resize it for you as a native file, then you can make as many changes as you'd like (other labels) and they'd be ready to go as the proper size.

Alright, I've created blank masters of this style of label, anyone can make reproductions using them as a base or modify them if they see fit.

    Find the images here.

I'm going to take that page and the images offline on Sunday. If someone wants to download and upload them to their own webspace that's fine. I have enough problems trying to keep from exceeding my monthly bandwidth as it is, which is why I'm not going to host them. (may at a later time) One is large size and the other is at the native size. This is the best I could do with the scan but it's a good starting point. Use them or recreate them at a higher resolution using them as a guide.

There were a few different colors for the little color stripe on the left. Simply research what color the original label used and fill in the white spot with it. You'll have to find your own fonts kids, we're not going to do all the work for you.

Please note that there were a couple of different styles of TurboGrafx-16 jewel case stickers. I believe this is the second version. The older style was the orange with black text, here's a comparison picture...

If someone gives me a HIGH RESOLUTION scan (so I'll get the orange color right) of the original style I'll make a base label for that style as well.

Also note that I will be away until next Sunday, so when you get no response until then - that's why.

No. I don't have the time to recreate labels, besides, SNES labels are nothing hard and there are tons of scans of the cartridges themselves. Just resize and print. Besides, the spines are just black with the text of the game. Here's a good place to get a start on that (look under "gamescans"), or use Google images, search for "GAME scan" or "GAME cartridge" - "HyperZone scan" or "HyperZone cartridge" for an example.

TG-16 jewel case stickers are unique and often missing. While there are some unique variants of the stickers (Sidearms comes to mind), the two most used types can be easily replicated with a little work if you have clean base images to build off of. I myself have been looking for some clean base labels and it looks like a few others need them as well. I have yet to come across someone scanning the spines of TG-16 games for archival.

There's nothing I can do without the source art, and if you had the source art then you'd already have a scan of the label.

    David, you're my hero

It would be extremely easy to modify what you already have in order to get the orange/black style label, the only problem is getting just the right shade of orange for it (which would likely be futile anyways, as the printer would end up screwing it up in the end).

The font used on the coloured-tips labels is pretty generic, but I've yet to see a good TG-16 style font for use on the orange/black labels, despite some searching... anyone got a link?
