I just read about this on Kotaku. The first 100 issues of Computer Gaming World magazine, dating back 25 years, are now available on-line for free download. Here is the archive:

KICK ASS!
Finially, a working answer to all those phony 'free subscription' threads that keeping popping up in Digital Press!
Thanks so much
I've checked out a few issues. The files are pretty big (about 20 MB per issue) but the quality is excellent. They're in full color, have all the advertisements, and have selectable/searchable text (not just bitmaps).
I wish these mags were from the 90s, as opposed to the 80s, though (even if it could only be the earlier part of the 90s, as opposed to the later half)
There are a few issues from the 90s. Click 1990-1999 where it says "Browse by year". The last issue you can get is November 1992 (number 100).Originally Posted by evildead2099
Nice, I used to own Aug 84 through to 1990, but they gotten wet and I had to dump them.
Excellent magazine, I would say it was the best in the 80s for C-64, Apple ][. XL, IBM entertainment (Next to Antic, of course).
Where else can you read a complaint letter about the cover (iss 63) Broadswords, Beasts and .... (referring to breasts probably)
Great! IMHO, CGW's reviews of computer strategy/war games for Apple/C64/etc are a notch or two above reviews in other publications of the time (ie. Compute!/Compute!'s Gazette).

Yeah, thanks for the link. I finally started downloading today because I kept forgetting to start it earlier this week. Too bad it's only letting me get 5 at a time.
