Doesn't it have to do with some law in Japan? Something about consoles not being allowed to launch on a school/work day?
I thought N64 was launched on a Sunday? I think Nintendo just launches on Sundays.
I think its a bit unusual, but not a big deal at all.
That means they will be in stores on Friday or Saturday....plenty of opportunity to break the street date...

True, but recently on Nintendo hardware?
I figure Nintendo have cottoned onto the fact Sunday is the one day when most people are going to be free and available to actually visit a store and either pickup their pre-order or buy it from the shelf. It also means kids won't have the need to skip school either (unless you're one of those real unlucky ones).
Hell, in some places they will probably have them almost a week before.Originally Posted by Trebuken
IIRC, I bought my DS (ds fat) on launch day, which was a Sunday.
I wonder if FYE would do it.Originally Posted by Trebuken

Its Wii Sunday. if only they could wait 10 days to lunch it on my b-day

Don't think of me as a youngn' just a collector that learned his basics from a Pico.
I just like that tingling feeling in my eyeballs when I play VB.
I am looking for a Mini Neo Geo 2- slot 13".
Sunday sunday sunday,
I am happy it is on a weekend. I work waaayyy too much during the week. What in the world is wrong with me??
Not weird at all... I remember getting both my DS and my GameCube on Sundays.
Your right dude church
U GAIZ JUST DONT LIKE CHANGE , (builds a artificial foundation here)
A Sunday launch isn't that weird, considering that many retail stores do "Sunday through Saturday" sales circulars.
I wonder how retail stores will handle advertising the Wii / PS3 system launches, since they are so close together.

My Digital Press Feedback
just spoke with a manager at Best Buy. he thinks that retail stores including his will put them on the shelves before the release date. according to him, no sense of keeping them in the stock room.
i wonder what nintendo would think of this?
anyone else hear that info?
I took a look at the email notices we got on it. We're under strict orders not to show it off or have any on the sales floor until the street date.Originally Posted by Kejoriv
