Default Metal Slug Anthology+ Arcade Stick

Ok, I plan on getting a Wii a Metal Slug Anthlogy. I've heard about the "virtual" arcade stick idea, but what I what is a true arcade stick. Since GC controllers work with the Wii, I was wondering, are there any good arcade stick(or whatever the true name is for them) controllers for GC that would work with it?

    Thanks a bunch.

The only mass produced one you'd come across is the X Arcade, to be honest, it's not all that bad.

Some smart person should make a Neo Geo stick -> Wii adaptor.

The Virtual Console gamepad seems fine but it would definitely be nice to get a good stick.

I have an X Arcade stick, and I can vouch for its quality. They're not that expensive either.

The X-Arcade site offers game adaptors for the Gamecube, and Gamecube controllers work on the Wii, correct? Unless there's something removing their support from the virtual console, you should be home free. Keep in mind I didn't do actual research here, so by all means find out for sure before you spend the money.

I could be talking completely out of my ass on this but I thought I heard that the GC controllers would not be able to control wii games. Making the retro controller necessary.
    Has anyone else read this?

The retro controller is only necessary if you want to play Virtual Console games and you don't have Gamecube controllers. (and it may only be required for SNES and N64 titles, now that I think about it)

In the case of Metal Slug Anthology specifically (and others, like Smash Bros Brawl), it has been stated on record that Gamecube controllers can be used to play these Wii games.

You also have the option of playing with the Wii controller "NES style", for those classic style games on the Wii.

You want to use a arcade stick?

PS2 version of Metal Slug Anthology + HRAP. There you go.

This is awesome news. I have a couple of GC pelican real arcade sticks that I enjoy very much.

Has it been confirmed whether or not MS Anthology works with GC or the classic controller?

Supposedly it's out today. Anybody in CA get it yet and can confirm if these two controller options work?
You don't have to be smart, you don't have to have all the facts, you just have to be confident.

If you can find it, Hori GCN arcade stick. Looks like this:

Pretty much the same thing as the SC II stick.

Posters @ NeoGAF and GameFAQs have confirmed no classic controller support. Worse yet, GC controller option doesn't make use of D-Pad, only analog. That means no Hori pads/sticks or Pelican sticks will work. PSP version, here I come!

No classic controller support. GCN controller requires use of analog stick to move character. D-pad only moves selections on menu screens.

Wii controller options include nunchuck RH and LH as well as Wii remote (sideways) RH and LH.

I tried the Hori pad and it would not work as it would not move character. buttons worked, then I plugged GCN controller in and analog would move character.

I found the Wii Mote Dpad better than using the analog on my Wave Bird.Im shocked they did allow the Classic controller to work with it.The D-pad is much bigger. Also locking out GC Joysticks is stupid.

The Pelican Real arcade "Universal" arcade stick has a mode button to use the stick in anilog mode for just such games, I have it, but no Wii nor Metal Slug game in sight.

But this will be a real bummer if SNKhas gone this route

I thought the game had customizable controls that would help you set up a nice joystick? Oh well :\
