Default Question re: Odyssey2 Odyssey 2 problem

Hoping someone out there might know specifically what might be wrong with an Odyssey2 system I picked up. Now I knew when buying it, it was listed as "non-working" but I'm hoping it's a simple fix. Basically when the system is powered up with any cartridge in it (or without), the screen fills up with garbage, a mix of alphanumeric stuff & some graphics. This happens all the time with all the different cartridges I have. Is the system basically a lost cause or is this something can be readily fixed? Any help would be appreciated -- thanks!

Sounds like it could be a number of things. My guess would either be some bad switchboxedness or even maybe a bad cartridge port.

Funny, Ive never experianced a malfunctioning O2.

Could just be dirty connections on the cart / port. Since that's a super-easy fix, try cleaning them first and see what happens.
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.

Yep, try that. It happens every now and then on my 02 systems. I usually take out the cartridge, maybe blow on it, plug it back in, and it works.

Going to clean the cartridge port tomorrow, I think that must be the problem. I'll post an update to let y'all know how it goes. Thanks again for the help & insight.

Cleaned the cartridge port, still same problem.
I'll try the technical forum to see if someone might have an idea on that too. Thank you for the help, though.
