arghhh how painfull is that last boss! I got beat when i got to it and had to play back through like 2 hours of the game cause there's no save point towards the end!!!
Beat it on the second go though, used ninja/ninja/sage/sage

I'm at the final boss now. I need to level up more though, I think.
I ended up taking my original party of Thief/Monk/Red Mage/White Mage all the way past getting the fourth crystal. Then, I gave three of them their natural upgrades. My Thief became a Ninja, my Monk became a Black Belt, and my White Mage became a Devout. As for my Red Mage, I'm actually keeping him as a Red Mage, because I can't find any other job for him that I like. I like the fact that he's both a magician and a frontline fighter. He's a good frontline fighter, too, with his dual-wielding Excalibur and the Break Blade.
Finally beat the final boss. Stuck with my party of Ninja/Black Belt/Red Mage/Devout, and it wasn't too tough. I had to level up though. I was level 45 when I finished Eureka, and that definitely was not a high enough level to win.
I didn't even have to use arise once when I finally beat him. Just had Ingus cast Curaja every turn.
Although I didn't like having to grind a bit before the final boss, I'm still definitely going to play through again in the future. Been a long time since I've played such a satisfying old-school RPG.
alright I'm digging this thread up because I just realized that I need to send mail to friends in order to get the whole benefit of the mog net, and since no one has posted anything in the FF III friend code thread I found I figured I'd ask here if anyone is willing to do any correspondence so I can unlock the rest of the side quests.
