Default Blurry Pics From Last Night's HOUSTON ARCADE EXPO '06 Attendance

A friend and I attended Friday night's Houston Arcade Expo 2006. This was my first time going. Overall, I'd say it was a blast. They had a wide assortment of pinball and arcade games. There were a few MAME cabinets there as well. I got to play a ton of games, including a few pinball games that I hadn't played in years. Except for the Donkey Kong machine. Two goobers were hogging that game all night. Fuckers.

Here's a few pictures I took. I apologise in advance for the blurriness of the photos. There were various lighting effects in the darkened room that had an adverse affect on the digicam I was using. Only two shots came out "ok".

Dumb 4 pics per post rule.

    Here's the rest:

A nice lady had a table set up with various 80's knick knacks. Here's what I scored:
    For $1

    For $8

Shitballs, and I wasn't at home in Houston then. Looks like fun!

I'll have to call my arcade-freak buddy who lives in the Heights and tell him about it so he can pull his hair out in frustration I'm sure he didn't go or I would have heard about it...

Is this an annual even, then?

SteveW was planning on attending as well, but I didn't see (or at least couldn't make him out) in any of your pix. How was the event overall? What kinds of games were there, and how many people were there? What, if anything, did it cost to attend?

I'd say the even was a success overall. A huge turnout while I was there. A lot of girlfriends/wives were dragged along it seems as there was many couples in attendance. I paid $15 admission for a one day only fee. I will definitely be going again!

Almost forgot, there was a DJ there blasting late 70's thru 80's music. I was a little disappointed that there weren't any Street Fighter II machines there. Also, one of those 3D Fatal Fury fighting games was tucked away in a corner. Plus, only a handful of kids were there.
