Default Top Five Favorite Zelda Games?

I am curious to know what everyone's top five favorite Zelda games are? Here are mine:

    1. The Legend Of Zelda
    2. The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker
    3. The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past
    4. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
    5. The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Amazing, but where are the Wizrobes?)

And i have only finally just started to get into Majoras Mask. I bought it back in 2000 on release day, and i have it on the collectors disk. But for some reason i immediately shunned it, and refused to like it because of the time system. I did not like the fact that a Zelda game was rushing me from exploring everything during my adventure. But now i realize that is not the case. And i love the fact that it has the original overworld theme. The soundtrack is probably my favorite in the whole series, along with Wind Waker.

Also, so far i am enjoying the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess more than the Wii version. I think i just prefer the classic Zelda control setup. The only thing that i liked better on the Wii is fishing, and although aiming and shooting is awesome, and probably better on the Wii, i still prefer the analog aiming. The maps being non mirrored has screwed me up a few times, and i miss the widescreen picture. But having the free camera from Wind Waker more than makes up for it. And the graphics are exactly the same using the componet cables with 480 progresive scan turned on. I have the older Gamecube that uses the componet cables, and for those of you that do not know, you have to hold down the B button every time while booting up the game to enable the option for progresive scan. But if you are playing it on your Wii with componet cables and progresive scan turned on, then im sure it looks the same. I have not tried it on the Wii yet. I am playing through this version when my wife is gone, but when she is home, she likes watching me play the Wii version in the living room. Zelda is awesome! By the way i really want another Zelda like Wind Waker using the same cel shaded graphics engine to come out on the Wii. I am excited about Phantom Hourglass, but i want a console version!

    1) Zelda: LttP
    2) Zelda: Link's Awakening
    3) Zelda: Majora's Mask
    4) Zelda: OoT

The n64 Zeldas might as well be a tie for me. I liked Links Awakening more than I should have, just because of that spress-select-warp thing you could do ^^

    Hmm...

#1: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (That's right, #1!)
    #2: The Legend of Zelda
    #3: Link's Awakening/Zelda DX
#4: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
#5: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I never really got into the other ones, honestly. I'd still like to play through them sometime.

My first PC games and favorite game of all-time.

I am a huge Zelda fan so here is my top 7 (sorry couldn't stop at 5, I love them all):

    1) The Legend of Zelda
    2) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (almost done the game, but can already tell you its my 2nd fav)
    3) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
    4) The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
    5) The Legend of Zelda: Adventures of Link (Zelda 2)
    6) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
    7) The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap (great game, but short)

BTW, Majora's Mask is the only Zelda game that I have never finished and that is my task after I finish TP.

I suck with the names so I'll name them the way I know them.

    SNES Zelda
original GB/GBC Zelda (or Zelda DX)
NES Zelda 2 (I'd actually play this over NES Zelda at the moment)
    Majoras Mask
    N64 Zelda

...is the top 5 right now. Although Wii Zelda will probably sneak in there eventually. And nope, I dont have the original Zelda in the top 5. I simply think it hasnt aged well, and to be quite honest even though I've finished the game dozens of times over my life, the last few times I played it, it was tedious.

..incidentally, Oracle of Ages/Seasons hits the way bottom. They're just too linear :P

    Mine would be...

    Link to the Past
    Ocarina of Time
    Twilight Princess
    Minish Cap
    Majora's Mask

I've loved them all though, besides the ones I've never played (The Game & Watch games and the cd-i junk that was Zelda in name only).

    1. Link's Awakening
    2. Link To The Past
    3. Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages
    4. Minnish Cap
    5. Legend of Zelda

I'm surprised that there seem to be no fans of the "Oracle" titles. What I liked most about these was the fact that you could import your completed game file from one cart to the other a la Shenmue and start the new game with an extra heart. I thought that was the bees knees. IIRC when Nintendo first started talking publicly about the Oracle series they initially planned to release three titles. That would have been amazing, importing the same character across three carts! But I can see where ambition had to give way to practicality and they scaled it back to two. Still cool, imho.

I might be sort of unique among Zelda fans in that my Zelda experiences are strictly on Game Boy platforms. Yes, even LttP and LoZ, which I played for the first time only in their GBA ports . Now that there seem to be no more planned Zelda releases for GBA I might have to break down and play one of the newer titles (/looks uncertainly at dusty copy of Majora's Mask).

To me the Oracle series is actually weak... and I played mucho hours on it going from Ages->Seasons and vice versa. I dont know what it is, but the whole "Capcom" Zelda games such as Ages/Seasons just seem way too linear.

All Zelda games are of course somewhat linear, but they generally get to a point where you really are kind of on your own to find your way and revisit and explore previously unreachable areas with new items. But the Oracle series.. it just seems to lead you on a path through the entire game. You get an item, and that item allows you to go to a particular section on the map. Then once you're done with an area, you rarely need to go back there for anything. I may be wrong, but that feeling stayed with me throughout the entire Oracle games.

Now that there seem to be no more planned Zelda releases for GBA I might have to break down and play one of the newer titles (/looks uncertainly at dusty copy of Majora's Mask).
Well the one for the DS is coming out.. now that one I'm looking forward to!

Not a HUGE Zelda fan, letsee if I can come up with 5 I really like...

    Link's Awakening (+/- DX)
    4 Swords (cube)
    Link To The Past
    Wind Waker

Honestly i can't think of a 5th I really LIKE. I imagine that I will like Minish Cap if i ever get around to playing it. I kinda like the Oracles from what VERY little I've played of them. I've played Ocarina but it really didn't do it for me that well. Maybe I should have my head looked at or something.

    1) Zelda: Twilight Princess [wii edition]
    2) Zelda: Link to the Past
    3) The Legend of Zelda
    4) Zelda: Wind Waker
    5) Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Based on this Twilight Princess is by far the most beutiful game and the wii just makes it more entertaining to play and link to the past was the greatest game of its time and the graphics were fairly good for its time. The wind waker and ocarina of time were basically good game play and who doesnt love the first zelda, it was the begining without that we wouldnt of had zelda...
