Great article. And the videos are a +.
Wow, the Atari 7800 had the endorsement of Donn Nauert, Captain of the U.S. Video Game Team! Well, I am SOLD.
That was a good retrospective. Took me a while to get through it, but I watched and read all of it. Good stuff.
heh pretty cool
in the last of it reading about the PS3 though i came across something a lil odd...
"Though observers criticized the PS3's high cost, supply has not kept pace with demand. The controller has next-generation features such as HDMI output (for 1080p HD) and a built-in Blu-ray disc drive."
I wish someone would find the old Magnavox Odyssey ads, featuring Frank Sinatra
Have you noticed that "TV game players" never actually push the cartridges into their respective systems? Every cartridge game ad I've ever seen (these included) has the hand simply setting the cartidge in the slot, and never "ramming it home".
yea i noticed that too, even some of the disc systems seemed to have the disc kinda half tossed in there and then SLAM the door shuts
Have you played Atari today.....
Wow, that was a really impressive collection of commercials, I just wish they had the Intellivision commercials with George Plimpton.
And wow, the Jaguar had some of the worst commercials ever.

Welcome to Macintosh.
Thanks for posting this link! I'm loving the article/videos. So far, I'm only up through the Odyssey 3 (long way to go...) but I had to post just to say that the Odyssey 3 video is GREAT. Won't post any spoilers here, just watch for yourself!
Well, back to the article!
