WOW! This remake is really great. As a matter of fact, this may be the best game of its kind I've ever seen or played. It blows Beats of Rage & the like totally out of the water. I wish someone would port this to DC or XBox. It deserves to be played in my living room.
Link not working.
Site dead.
Do you know why..everybody is trying to go on that site at the same time
Whew! Glad I snagged a copy before the site crashed!
I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed. It's a lot fun and plays quite well with my MS Sidewinder controller.
I would like to see, however:
Updated voice samples.
The original character portraits. The new ones are....not quite as good.
Adam looks..out of place compared to the others. I know he's a custom job..but at least spruce up the colors on the other character sprites.
I'm just being nit picky. They did a great job and it's a lotta fun to play. Kudos!
The site is working for me, but I could put the ZIP file up on Megaupload or similar site...
Pretty fun remix of the game. It makes me even a bit sadder that no SoR games were on the Genesis Collection on PS2.
Can the Genesis/Mega Drive hold this game..I know it based off the SoR 2 Engine
Hmmm, you're right. Not sure what's going on there. I remember reading that this was the final version.
BTW, the site is back up and the download seems to be working again. I can't wait to try this when I get back to my own PC over the weekend.
EDIT: The message board for the game says this:
"With the game almost completed, I can say SorR will be launched on 31 DECEMBER 2006 (official and definitive release date)"
So I'm not sure why the filename still has "beta" in it.

Playing it, I would say probably not. Not only is it programmed for an entirely different platform, but the music is not the original MD chip tunes & there are some effects that the old 16-bitter couldn't do.
On a side note, I love the fact that they put the cut motorcycle stage in there. Very cool.
These guys just released the final version of this remake yesterday, it would appear (found the link on Indiegames.com).

You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?
downloading now, I recall looking at this years ago, closest we'll ever get to a real sequel that isn't some 3d pile of bullshit :-)
Downloaded and tested, it's awesome!
I really like how you can set different engine options (I normally set everything to SOR3 since that's my favorite SOR).
The different paths really add a lot of replay value and variety, something a lot of Beat 'em up games lack.
A lot of effort went also into remaking new sprites for older enemies and characters and also into the backgrounds and remixed music.
A must have for beat 'em up fans.
