*shrugs* I'm not especially bothered, I just assumed that being in the Classic gaming forum meant it was for classic gaming finds. As far as I'm aware there is some sort of criteria for the distinction between what counts as 'classic' gaming and what as 'modern' gaming on these boards, so that shouldn't necessarily be a problem. However, I do see that people might not want to have the hassle of creating two separate posts for their finds ...

Personally, I'm not really interested in the modern stuff, so it would suit me not to have to scroll past it all .. but I guess I'm probably the minority

Found this at a Goodwill for $5 today...

Doesn't have all of the electronics in the game chairs I've been seeing lately at GW, but it feels solidly built, like real furniture, and is very well cushioned. Will be a nice addition to the gameroom.

Finds are finds, we are still looking for the thrill of the hunt, modern or classic.

Bought the game from jeffg here on DP.

    Thanks!

Today I picked up the following games from a local store:

    - Mischief Makers (N64)
    - Castlevania (N64)
    - Quest: Brian's Journey (GBC)
    - Survival Kids (GBC)
    - Super Buster Brothers (SNES)

I don't actively collect for the SNES; I picked up Buster Brothers because I like the game. I didn't realize that the game itself is pretty scarce (R6).

    Arrived in the mail yesterday:

    Game Boy:
    Lamborghini American Challenge (w/manual) - $3.74 shipped

I also went to an EBGames and GameCrazy yesterday, and got more portable gaming goodness:

    Game Boy:
TaleSpin (loose) - $3.33 (via GameCrazy 3 for $10 sale)

    Game Boy Color:
Dragon Warrior III (loose) - $3.33 (via GameCrazy 3 for $10 sale)

    Game Boy Advance:
    Golden Sun (loose) - $4.99

DW III was the find of the day. Golden Sun was a great find too, and if TaleSpin is anywhere near as good as the NES version, I'll have fun with that. Lamborghini American Challenge is a welcome addition to my racing collection. The third game I got in the 3 for $10 deal is going to a friend in trade and I don't feel right posting it here.
Random fun fact: the GameCrazy I visited was in King City - if you remember that tacky employee training video that was leaked onto YouTube a while back, that's where it was filmed.

Let me know if you enjoy Mischief Makers. I've been temped to buy it for awhile and heard nice things about it. And as for Super Buster Brothers, spectacular game and it's a wonder I haven't heard of another release for it, it would be cool to see it on a newer generation consule, both a classic and newer 3D mode, like FPS of big bubbles floating around.

This isn't exactly a find in that it's a pretty new game...except for the fact it doesn't seem to have been made in the usual high numbers, thus making it a bit harder to find than most GameCube games...

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I found this at, of all places, my local Wal-Mart. They now have one of the puniest GC libraries of any store around here but they did get this game in. Interestingly, I bid on a copy of this game at eBay this morning and that auction ends in less than a half-hour. Obviously, I now won't be broken-hearted if I'm overbid. If I am the high bidder, I'm sure I can find someone to take it off my hands...

Added note: I did get overbid but the winning bid came in only 5/100th of a second before the auction ended. Talk about close...

turns out my $5 3D0 is toast! pop a disk in and it makes a lot of whirring noises, like it's trying to move the lens and can't. anyone ever hear of this issue with the fz-10 model?

$15 at the swap meet today:

the #4 button sticks a bit, the joystick stays in the up and down positions instead of self-centering back, and there's a single pixel in the middle of the screen that stays lit all the time, but still always nice to find in the wild...

I have a HUGE post for today, so bear with me here.

Lets start with yesterday. I woke up late and found squat at the swap meet, but following a couple of signs, I found a couple of garage sales.

At one I got for $5

SNES system with hookups and 1 controller, LttP and DKC. I'm gonna have to take apart the system and clean it, same with the controller, but everything should work just fine after I'm done with it.

I went to the neighbor who was having a sale and got for $5

TOCA Racing, Driver, GT 1 and 2, Megaman X4, Need for Speed High Stakes, Twisted Metal 4, Medal of Honor, GTA 2, Road Rash 3D, Rally Cross 2 and a PS2 Dual Shock. 11 games and 1 controller

Now today was even more crazy, my younger brother and I got up and headed out for the swap meet at 8:30. We first hit up one in San Diego.

    For $5 I got

Myst for the Saturn (complete), Last Blade 2 for the DC, Sonic 1, American Gladiators, World of Illusion with MM and DD, Castle of Illusion. 6 games for $5

Then we went over to the Oceanside Swap Meet, where I only got 1 game. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo for $2. Then we went over to the Kmart nearby and I got a ton of games there. I spent $41 and he spent $13.

    I got:

    Asphalt
    Feel the Magic
    True Swing Golf x2
    Drill Dozer
    Chibi Robo
    Neopets (PSP)
    DBZ Sagas (Xbox)
    Indigo Prophecy

    He got:

    Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
    Psychonauts

After this, I went home, got a couple of more games that I had laying around and headed for FYE, who had their trade in deal right now. I traded in:

    Tiger Woods 05 (gamecube)
    Clancy Triple Pack
    Indigo Prophecy
    DBZ Sagas
    Spiderman 2 (DS)
    True Swing Golf
    Sprung
    NeoPets

With their 20% extra deal, I got $54 cash! I covered all of my purchases for the day PLUS nearly half of yesterday!

Although it doesn't end there. After we ate, we went into my local Sears and right before seeing a friend of mine, I noticed that they had 2 copies of Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix! I snatched up both of them, although I offered one to my friend first before I bought them as he was looking for one. He didn't have the money though, so I bought both for $107 after tax.

I finally got home about 4:30pm, tired and a bit sunburnt, but overall it was a great weekend.

I got the collector's edition of Prey for 360 @ Wal-Mart for $29.96. Also picked up Rainbow Six Vegas (price match off Best Buy) and Fight Night Round 3. Got MVP Baseball '04 for the Cube and Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando at K-Mart for 4 bucks a piece.

Forgot that I picked up the last SOCOM 3 at TRU for $9.98 and a broadband adapter for the Cube for $17.00 at Wally World.

This is why you should all go to Drexel923's store and the gatherings there. Some things may not be killer finds, but I would much rather get them from there than ebay.
