Default Advice on removing shipping labels from system boxes :-(

Brand new PAL Turbografx bundles.. with a lovely shipping sticker on the system box, and another on the accessory box..

The boxes are kind of shiny, does anyone have any tips for removal?

I peeled a corner of the sticker on the system box and it took some of the print from the box..

I know people have removed these pretty well before and sometimes even with no damage.. but I seriously need advice here as I want to remove hopefully without damaging.

If your a turbografx fan look away NOW! :-(

Holy hell! Well, I don't have experience with shipping stickers, but I have taken moderately sized price stickers off of NES & SNES boxes without any problem. The key is heat. I used a blowdryer to heat up the area that the sticker was on. This should weaken the adhesive and allow you to pull the sticker off (SLOWLY) without taking the box print along with it. Be wary though, as some of the adhesive will most likely remain on the box, making it a hair and lint magnet.

There's other methods too, like subjecting the area to steam. Personally, I'd wait for a few more suggestions from more people before trying anything.

Thanks for that, some good ideas there. I actually have some "label remover" solution, so if i can manage to remove the label, perhaps using the hairdryer method, then I can use the label remover carefully and it will get the adhesive off..

If anyone else has any ideas though, im most likely going to wait a day or two before attempting this..

I'd try rubbing the goo off (NO comments on that, please, that's NOT what I meant, ya guttermind! ) before trying anything liquid...

Advice worked a treat. They came off with next to no damage using the hairdryer method. Took me all evening but it was worth it! THANK YOU!
