Default Anyone have a list of 2p co-op classic games?

I'm looking for a list of every american 2p co-op game for the NES, SNES, Gen, and up, and I need your help! Sorry if this has been posted before, couldn't find it.

I own a rather large game collection, and I know there are hundreds of good co-op games out there for classic systems (from Contra to Secret of Mana to PSX Wargames) but it seems that we just stare at the collection and can't think of anything to play!

What I'd like is a complete checklist so that when friends come over we can start checking off games we've completed together in a little binder (even date and initial) to help with the sense of accomplishment and direction of all the greats (and not-so-greats) we need to play through!

I'm mainly interested in 2p co-op lists for:
    NES
    SNES
    Gen
    32X
    3DO
    Sega CD
    Saturn
    Master System
    Dreamcast
    Playstation
    N64

Anything PSX/N64 or earlier that 2 people can play together and finish (i.e. no infinite 2p MS. Pac-Man)

Hoping for COMPLETE lists, though everyone likes to highlight their faves

Again, I mostly only have American games, few imports.

    Any help appreciated!!

Check out Shadow of the Ninja (NES) and Ninja Crusaders (NES) for some fun co-op ninja action.

Pocky and Rocky (SNES) is a great co-op game.

Other things I can think of off the top of my head are Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Rampage, and just about any other beat 'em up (ie Double Dragon, Final Fight, whatever) and any shmup.

My favorites are Lost Vikings (genesis/snes) and Norse by Norsewest (saturn/psx), as well as Soldiers of Fortune (genesis/snes).

And since you put 32x on there, I have to mention Knuckles Chaotix.

I'm pretty sure this thread was done recently but I'd add in both River City Ransom and Life Force (NES). One fun thing to do is pass the controller to your friend when changing characters in Maniac Mansion. I did that a time or two.

I know a few for the SNES, like Kirby Super Star (when you suck up an enemy, get the power, then dump it to get a helper, somebody press start on controller 2 and wala, second player) and Mystical Ninja (just press A player 2). One for the Sega Dreamcast (I think) is Altered Beast. Another one is for the SNES, it was a Batman game which I think was called Batman and Robin. I know a few more that i cant name off the top of my head right know so i'll post again when I can remember them.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Smash TV (especially Super Smash TV) yet. I think that's the best co-op experience I've ever had; the tiny, abundant sprites make it PERFECT for co-op.

Wow, this thread was rezzed from the dead. I've jotted down a few hundred (!) in a notebook I might get around to typing up, if I can find the time.

NES - Life Force, TMNT: The Arcade Game, TMNT III, Snake Rattle And Roll, Double Dragon 1 2 & 3, Snow Bros, Bubble Bobble, Mendel Palace, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers 1 & 2, Contra, Super C, Contra Force, Shadow Of The Ninja, Toobin', Monster In My Pocket, Battletoads, Trog

SNES: Darius Twin, Aero Fighters, Raiden Trad, Pop'n Twinbee

One interesting SNES game is Lamborghini American Challenge. It's a conversion of Crazy Cars 3 for Amiga, but IIRC it has a 2 player mode where P1 drives the car, and P2 uses the Super Scope to shoot other cars. I believe the SNES mouse can also be used for shooting.

I would love to see someone step up and make an official list. I vote slackur takes control and gets the ball rolling. Lets make this official since it is a very good topic and its something that would benefit most players.

lol, this is why I never get any gaming in anymore.

OK, lets start small. Gonna be here all morning and burn out if I go for NES or Genny first. And if you notice titles missing from these that you can confirm are co-op, please list them in an organized fashion as opposed to scatter-shot. And one more clarification: we're looking for 2p campaign style co-op, as opposed to simply 2 player versus. Someone feel free to take this list and expand it to include all 2p or more games elsewhere if they like.

    32x Co-op games confirmed:
    Shadow Squadron
    Star Wars Arcade

    Saturn Co-op confirmed:
    Area 51
Bubble Bobble also featuring Rainbow Islands
    Darius Gaiden
    Die Hard Arcade
    Galactic Attack
    Guardian Heroes
    Herc's Adventures
Iron Man/X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal
Legend of Oasis (unlocks with code)
    Maximum Force
    Norse by Norsewest
    Rampage World Tour
    Revolution X
    Scud: The Disposable Assassin
    Sonic Jam (Sonic 2)
    Three Dirty Dwarves
    Virtua Cop
    Virtua Cop 2

    Sega CD Confirmed Co-op
    Crime Patrol
    Final Fight CD
    Lethal Enforcers
    Lethal Enforcers II: Gunfighters
    Mad Dog McCree
Mad Dog McCree II: The Lost Gold
Sega Classics 4/5 in 1 (Streets of Rage, Golden Axe)
    Who Shot Johnny Rock?

    Hmmm...
SNES: Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, Joe and Mac, Mystical Ninja, Soilders of Forture, Darius Twin, I think, are a few that have not been listed.
