Does anyone know if the Freeloader will work with the Wii? This is sort of a major concern to me.

Mine Does, I only tried it with Kirby's Air Ride so far though.
Works fine.

yep,i used my freeloader with adventure island remake and it worked fine.
do not buy/get system repair from martin krohn aka iamnotageek.com
It only appears to be working on US hardware though for now (the old versions that is). Maybe CodeJ need to update it or figure out how to get around the blocks Nintendo put in (introduced with the last iteration of Cube hardware).
I remember reading that they didn't work on Kotaku or some similar site... but after reading this thread I tried my Freeloader out on Doshin the Giant, and it worked beautifully. In widescreen progressive scan even! I'm really stoked about this.

It doesn't work on any Wii apart from the US models. The tech Nintendo is using to block it was introduced on the last iteration of Cube hardware, the Pearl model bundled with Mario Strikers.
Damn, it doesn't work on the Euro Wii? That's what I need it for! lol
If I go back to England I want to be able to play my US GC games on the Wii... Hope this gets tended to soon.
Esentially, the Wii, 360 & PS3 should all be multi regional, at least for the HD, because the HD signal is universal there is no reason why a US HDTV wouldn't play Pal HD DVD's for example, games etc. Region locks and codes should be all but phazed out for the HD generation. This is the most phenominal thing about HD.
As for GC on Wii, I'm not sure if that freedom would apply, since the software for GC is made for regular televisions the Mhz issue would still apply with Pal on NTSC as far as I know. This is what I hate about PS,PS2 & GC.
As far as I can tell, yes. Why the US models escaped I have no idea because it wasn't as if the rest of the world was very far behind the US in terms of release on the Wii!
(time between US and Europe was 3 weeks)
@Lozza - if all else fails, just get a cheap US Cube, you can pick one up for very little now. The TVs can handle the picture, and a UK Cube power supply is fine on it.
