    Default Wii problem

A friend of mine is having a very bizzare problem with his Wii, and I was wondering if there was an easy fix for it. I doubt it but I figured I would ask. Here is the description:

"I've started getting an error message on the Wii every time I put in a game... it says something like "an error has occurred. eject the disc, turn off the console, and check the operations manual". The manual pretty much said to check online, and the Wii troubleshooting site says I need to send it in for repairs... Has anyone else encountered this problem? One other thing I noticed is that if I start the system without a game inserted, I can browse the Wii menu normally. However, if I try to access any of the channels, the screen goes black. If I press any buttons on the remote after the screen goes black, all 4 lights at the bottom flash a few times and I end up having to do a hard reset. It was working fine last week, and I've left it plugged in since then..."

I already suggested unplugging it and taking out any SD cards that may be inserted. No luck.

I think I had the same problem when I first got mine. It wouldn`t recognize Wii Sports. I tried a couple other games & they worked fine. I then tried Wii Sports again & it worked. I haven`t had any problems since. Except maybe a dislocated elbow from bowling! ! Try a different game. Good Luck!

I should ask if he ever managed to fix it. I will try to find out.

Well, he got the machine fixed by Nintendo, so I guess this isn't really an issue anymore.
