Default Twin Famicom problem-not the belt

I just fixed three Famicom Disk Systems (yay for me) and I finally did some troubleshooting on a Twin Famicom I've been working on for a long time. The cartridge portion works perfectly and the actual disk drive works too when tested in a Disk System case with the Disk System circuit board. The ERR 01 screen comes up (no disk card). Somehow the drive is not being recognized. Anyone know what could be wrong? I can't swap out the circuit board from a Disk System because Twin Famicom board has the a/v output built in to it. Also what's up with the solenoid in the top of the case? I assume it has something to do with the switch that closes the cartridge doors and is some kind of safety thing so you can't have a cart and disk playing at the same time. Thanks for any help you can give. List of Famicom hardware and software for sale coming soon!

Did you try putting the drive from a regular FDS in there to see ifit gives the same error?
