Default Would you include this in your collection?

I found this strange beast in a second hand store today and was not to sure what it was at first.
Since it only cost $10 I could not let it sit there so I bought it.
what I want to know is would you include this machine in your console game collection?

Its a Japanese import so I have to get a power adapter and some media before I can test it.

I used to play video games, but then They started putting voices in the games which told me to do bad things.

Now I just skip the video games and do the bad things.

It'd be similar to buying the third party Genesis 3, correct? Not too familiar with the CD-I system so can't say if it's regionless but that should be looked into.

The controller looks Korean, not Japanese. Is the system Japanese and came with a Korean controller, or are they both from Korea?

If I had a Jynx think of the things we can do together. She also kisses alot.
Not to mention her breast plates is obviously hiding something nice

    nice find for $10

thats a roller controller, or a kids controller http://www.icdia.co.uk/accesories/pointing.html

does it have the DV mpeg card in it? to play VCD movies and some games
its to the left of the door under the plate with the name on it, open the CD door and look at that edge to open it
you can test it with a music cd when you get a power converter

i found a CDi 220 with that controller and an IR remote controller with 12 games in the garbage

and yes i would include it in my collection as i have one in my collection

Nice find! For $10, that's definitely one of the rarer CD-i's I'm sure... although it looks almost identical to the Magnavox CD-i 450. And yes, all CD-i are region-free, so it'll definitely play all the North American and European content you can throw at it.

I'm not sure what you mean by this... you've already bought it, so isn't it already in your collection? Or are you trying to categorize the machine somehow? In general, I don't think Phillips really meant for the CD-i to be treated as a game machine, but rather as a multimedia center (ie, for stuff like encyclopedia CD's, educational material, movies, etc). Models like this one were definitely aimed at the gaming market though, so I don't see anything wrong with including it in a video game collection.

If you're asking whether the machine is worth keeping, then I'd say you should try to get some media for it and decide for yourself. Most people don't care much for the CD-i, so it's entirely possible you'll decide that you hate it and want to get rid of it. Personally, I like mine... it always seems quite a bit different from the rest of my consoles in certain ways.
