This is awesome news. I can finally dust off the old PSP this Fall. It's still too bad Sony won't release anything 2-D on the PS2...this game belongs on my TV, not a little handheld screen.

Holy crap this is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome................ *hugs psp*...... and thanks KONAMI!!!!
To be this good takes AGES
To be this great takes SEGA!!
This is great news! The inclusion of the original Rondo AND Symphony seals it. As someone with a DUO but no Rondo (and no PSP) I think it would be cheaper for me to just get Rondo though...
If Sony can get a price drop together on the PSP and Silent Hill: Origins turns out well I may just have to get one...
Cheers,
Ben
Yes, but this doesn't have anything to do with the PS1 Chronicles or the SNES Dracula X.
So it looks like Konami's FINALLY continuing the Chronicles line. But only on PSP? That just sucks. I hope they decide to give the damn thing a PS2 release.
'course, I've been hoping that for all the shooter collections they've been releasing for the PSP too, and that hasn't happened so far.
I agree 100%. You know, I just think I'm going to bite it and not be able to play it. I've owned a PSP two seperate times. Hell if its going to be three. Why can't Konami get with the times and make this an XB Live arcade release or a console title? ARGHHH.
I think we would have to be idiots as hardcore gamers to BUY a PSP to play this. At best, you're talking over $175 for the PSP + Castlevania collection. Drop another $130 or so and you can have the real-thing on you tv. $130 may sound like a lot to some, but then you also open up the entire Duo library---which is pretty phenomenal.
Shame on you Konami, shame on you...

They'll get the hint when 2D actually sells on consoles. Look at Castle Crashers, they were going to give that game a "legit" disc based release but decided the best route would be Xbox Live. Still a console release, but it's certainly not a "prime time" title.
While handhelds are getting more respect now, 2D is still stuck in the ghetto. In the ghetto....

About releasing it on PSP instead of PS2, PS2 is already doing it damn great so maybe they think this game will sell more PSPs.
It's Sony's decision, not Konami's. Sony has strictly prohibited 2-D games being released on the PS2. The only way Sony will approve a 2-D game is if it's some mega-compilation (sometimes that's not even enough...look what SNK had to do to get Metal Slug Anthology released on the PS2). I'm positive Konami has presented these idea's to Sony several times and finally got the approval for the PSP because of its slow decent into obscurity. Sony desperately needs more titles for the PSP and are therefore getting less "picky" and letting a few 2-D titles slip by.
This is a good thing.

I'm INCREDIBLY happy that this is coming out in the uS for PSP...simply because no one ever believes that Rondo of the Blood is better than Symphony of the Night...until they play it. Bout damned time the average gamer can play Rondo without having to buy a Duo. However, I'm also sad because Rondo looked AMAZING on a full-size TV and I think that being on the PSP would kind of ruin the epic effects of the game. Course, the 2.5D PSP optimized version looks nice...I see they've remixed the original music and added enemies and such, but still.
Ultimately, this is a title I'd prefer on a home console rather than a portable...but I'll still buy it for my PSP. I already have the Duo version but it'll be nice to play the 2.5D and to have it portable...with the story in English. On the PSP, I don't think demand will increase for level-based Castlevanias tho...which is too bad because I hate the exploration style. Ironically, if you don't have a PSP, you almost might as well buy the Duo version though, as a PSP + Castlevania Chronicles X will be only a bit cheaper (if you can get a deal on a Duo or have one) than a PCE Rondo of the Blood
Either way, kudos to Konami for finally bringing the lost Castlevania to the US!

I have a feeling the creator of the series isnt feeling to well about a rondo rerelease he stated himself he doesnt want to port it ever cause he considers it a fan game , well the company he works for doesnt care I suppose.
U GAIZ JUST DONT LIKE CHANGE , (builds a artificial foundation here)
Just watched the trailer for it and, so far, its not too bad. The remixed graphics arent superb, but they arent THAT bad. I, too, would have loved it if this would have come to a home system, but I'll take it though. I also have the PC-E version and still love it (probably will still prefer it over the new release), but its nice to see it finally get translated here AND we also get a nice portable version of SOTN. Not THAT bad, huh?
Do you guys think there is a chance in hell that this might lower the price of the Turbo CD/Duo original? If it sold for $100 or less I might sell some stuff and just own the real thing. But its still going for over $150...
looks like I'm gonna be buying a PSP once again.
fuck it, This shit looks (and sounds) way too awesome to pass up!
